Hey, everybody, if TB loses the series, it's all on Stamkos missing the open net in the 3rd tonight.

Oh I agree. It's just that I tend to feel more optimistic about the Hawks when they're in control of all the possession stats as that's been the trend when they've won the Cup in the past.

Yeah, I'd like that, too, but this team may be a different animal, bend-don't-break, and score a crucial goal when they need it. That said, I hope we control the puck next game, pot a bunch of goals, and win by 2 or 3, but I'll take a double OT victory, too.

I'm still feeling greedy and pulling for 2 more wins in a row so they lift the Cup on home ice. Not that I wouldn't take a 7-game Hawks win, but we still haven't seen the Cup get hoisted at the UC. Good year to change that.

Yeah, I think the town deserves that, too.

But if we take 7 to do it, I guess I'll accept that.

I've followed the Hawks since 65-66, and when you're a 12-year older who Loves Stan Mikita, Bobby Hull, Tony Esposito and you lose to the Canadiens in 1971 (and 1973, too), after being up 3-2, and lose game 7 at home, which didn't happen in the Finals again, till the Pens beat the Wings At Joe Louis in 2009, and you wait 49 years for the Hawks to win the Cup, you'll take one any way you can. BTW, Bruins also beat the Canucks in game 7, in Vancouver, in 2011.

BTW, if TB loses the series, it's all on Stamkos missing the open net in the 3rd tonight (actually, it's last night, now, ...I think).

...just thought I' share that with you.

They're probably wringing their hands over this in the "Stamkos is a Terrible Captain" thread on their board.

Assuming, of course, that they also have posters who hide the Ritalin under their tongue until mom leaves the room.

I can give two shits about analytics or Corsi ratings or any other stats. As I'm sure the players don't care either

The fact this team lost Roszival and has played 4 dmen this long and is 2 wins away from a cup is all that matters. And Seabrook had the save of the game

Don't forget Keith on the wraparound. It was a team D win, not just a goalie win.

Tampa had several power plays and a smothering forecheck, yet managed only 24 shots on goal.

^^^I'll pretend I didn't see any of that.

Winning the cup at home would be amazing. I'll take a Game 7 win to seal the dynasty but imagine winning our 3rd cup in 6 years on home ice in front of our he crowd.

Would be awesome.

I'll take the cup win however it manifests it self, though.

I think OT Game 7 would be amazing.

Grimtard is like the candyman if you say his name 3 times he will appear. However if you just dont notice him the he won't appear. Don't even have to ignore him, just act like he is not here.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
My observations:
  1. Crawford just stole the game; you are an invalid...
  2. Nice of Toews and Kane to decide to show up on the scoresheet--and nice of Toews to do it not riding on someone's coattails.
  3. Seabrook was one of the worst guys on the ice.
  4. Versteeg looked decent
  5. Kimmo didn't get turnstyled nearly as much as I thought he would
  6. Was great to see the team *not* give up an answer-back goal.
  7. Toews/Sharp/Hossa looks like it can do some damage
  8. If the 'hawks manage to win in no universe should the Smythe be given to anyone but Keith. If someone else wins if the 'hawks win, then some need to be fired.
  9. This rope-a-dope stuff could be our undoing. Still need to come out much better.

Happy for the win. 3 game series now and hopefully our boys elevate their game.

By my count the Hawks hit the post and the crossbar three times in that game. They didn't get a lot of breaks in that game.

Those two points are somewhat contradictory. The entire team played great defense, including Crow. That's why I won't say he stole it, because he had help. When a team kills four penalties, a 2-minute 6 on 5, and allows only 24 shots, that's a great team D effort.

Not getting nearly enough credit was the play of Johnny Oduya. Guy will be playing for the rest of the series with 1 arm and he may have been the best defender the Hawks had, again.

And Seabrook was rumored to be sick/battling the flu/getting IV's before the game and during intermissions
