Stats Comparsions, etc...

He has to be. At 21 years old, he looks solid. At least with the bat and the D will keep improving. He's 2 in the NL with hits (95) behind Mets' Jose Reyes and 3rd in the MLB.

He will probably make it for sure because the Cubs will need a representive. But that should not be the case. He won't make it with the fan voting but with the players/coaches.

So, what do you think?

Offensively he's definitely the 2nd best SS so far but defensively he's bottom of the barrel. And I'm guessing the Cubs representative will come from the bullpen. So I'm voting no

MKarshall has stuggled as of late big time. Marmol has been up and down. Wood has been inconsistent. On and on.

Also, fans don't vote in pitchers..managers do.

Garza has been better than Castro. Marmol could rep us again. I think it's pretty much a crap shoot between Castro, Marms, and Garza.

Reyes will be and should be voted the NL SS starter. Reyes has been unbelievable. I think that the Cubs will only get one representative and that is a toss up between Marmol and Castro. Marmol has put up sick numbers this year and really has been pretty consistent. Marmol currently has a 2.78 ERA, 12 K/9 and 14 saves. Also he hasn't allowed a single inherited runner score out of 8 so far this year. He has blown 4 save opportunites, but for most of the year he has been a lock down guy.

I think who they go with really goes with the breakdown of the All-Star team. Castro is a pretty good bet, but I wouldn't be shocked to see Marmol chosen over him.
