figured id start a thread on starlin castro for us to keep an eye on him and see if he can turn his season around..
he was benched for the first time the other day after 269 games, he has had 2 good games going 2 for 5 in each and went 0 for 4 in seattle.

It doesn’t sound like Dale Sveum thinks Starlin Castro’s troubles are behind him just yet. “I think the mechanics of his swing are probably the same,” Sveum said, per Carrie Muskat. “He’s mixed in some hits which are nice. That’s usually what gets you going sometimes. He’s still struggling a little bit with the fastball. The mechanics are the same. Hopefully, he keeps gradually understanding what he has to do.” In other words, Sveum would like to see Castro actually implementing whatever mechanical changes they’ve been discussing (“quieting his movement” before the pitch is probably one of them)

starlin castro in 3 Games is 4 for 14 1 K since his benching .285 Avg.

At this point I am hoping he is not going to turn into a bust. I hope he can figure it out and get back to his All-Star form and better.

He just hit his first HR in about a decade. So that's a start, right?

considering he was 13 for his last 103 AB with no HR and 3 RBIs before his day off, yes 5 for 15 with a HR and RBI in 3 + games is a good start

I was curious on last HR Apr 30th against SD..

lol

I actually agree on trading Feldman. He 5th SP that can net you more value back. Garza i dont agree with cause chance they get something back comparable to Garza is like 10%. Rather just pay Garza for next 4-5 yrs

He's passing the eye test lately, won't make up for 1st half of season even if he keeps it up, but non-competitive season so it doesn't matter much so long as he gets back on the right track heading into next season.

Slumps suck, real hard to break out of them, so I know his pain.
