That’s what I’ve started doing. It’s alternated up/down for over a week now. Buy the dips, and buying puts to supply $$ to buy those dips

I am definitely averaging down these days.

I was in on Amazon when it was $825.00 or so if I remember- So I am still way green gainz yo there---- I put in a order for 2 more shares at $1550.00 tomorrow. I am not sure if it dips to that price tomorrow but I do think Amazon at that price is sexy AF. If it doesn't dip that low tomorrow, I will cancel the order most likely to pursue other spur of the moment ideas I guess.

I went hard at Ford today too even though I genuinely hate being a share bag holder with them for the last 9 or so years. I threw another grand their way at $5.40 today. If that ****** ever pops to $20.00 or more I am so gone! Unfortunately, I hold 1400 plus shares with these dopes.

I continued averaging down with Visa, Microsoft and Disney today as well. I really love Amazon and Microsoft for their cloud storage alone. If I had to impose my knowledge on anyone, I would say go hard at Microsoft, they print money.

Finally, I threw another grand at CGC- Canopy---At 10.43 it's good value. I now own enough shares that if that sucker pops again(like it does at election time) I could be half a wealthy man.

Is anyone interested in creating a stock thread for this kind of dork chatter?

Microsoft/Disney/Amazon = solid AF.

I think we've had an Investing thread before but never really had traction.

I’m all for a thread like that.

Btw, I own a lot of weed stocks at pretty cheap prices...not as cheap as they currently are. Made a nice profit in their first rocket up, then sold. Been making some $$ on ACB puts lately to offset the drop in the overall pot stocks

I keep nipping at it on the way down...figuring in a couple years I’ll be happy I did. Right now I’ve been losing $$ on it, though

Yes, most savvy investors are putting some money in daily at this point. I am throwing a couple grand in every time there is a day like today. Doubled my contribution today as all signs pointed to a major meltdown.

How's that working out for you?

As someone doing the same thing, I would venture just fine. I didnt(and I’m assuming he didn’t) put $$ in expecting returns within a week. It’s about getting cheap prices with a long term investment horizon. Major down days are going to be a thing for a bit, along with some massive upswing days. If you think you can predict a bottom for the perfect timing to buy, you’re delusional

How is it working just fine? I understand your objective but you bought before you had to. There were no signs this was going to get better anytime soon so I don't understand the rush to catch a falling knife.

So you’re saying you know when it’s going to bottom? I’ve been buying small amounts on these massive down days...I’m not all in on any one drop...it’s the smart way to get in on cheap prices, and in 5 years everyone will wish they had done so

No I have no idea when it's going to bottom. But I knew that March 9 (the post I quoted) was not a good time to buy. That was just the beginning man, this corona thing is going to last for months and months and we were told that.

And, like I said, I get your strategy of dollar cost averaging. That's the way to go. But even with that you don't want to buy before you have to.

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised to see us drop to near 15k.

The stock market prices things in ahead of time...so, in theory it’s pricing things already months ahead with down profits.

Maybe. The markets are dislocated right now which means they don't actually know where they should be trading. There are way too many variables in play here.

Agreed with that 100%. Nobody knows where it’s going next week. I have gotten pretty damn good at predicting what it’ll do on a day by day basis, though. Been making some $ to offset some of my losses in my Roth that I just let roll on.

I've been putting in money daily and I will continue to. I know we aren't at the bottom yet, but I also know in 3-5-10 years, it will be lightyears from where it's at now.

The fact that this is also an election year doesn't help at all. Just another variable to throw into the puzzle.
