Now there's a name I haven't heard in like 20 years.

Idk why but I thought "What's a business you remember from the glory days of Blockbuster?"

And Builder's Square was what came to mind lol

I just took out a short position on GME when it was around 340. This madness will end, and it will be ugly

Selling another 50 AMC at 20. I'll have only 100 left and i'm not selling until it hits $100 because these kids are fucking insane.

Builders Square went defunct in the late 90s, about the time Blockbuster truly entered its glory days. Early 2000s is when Blockbuster was on top.. then Netflix came and crushed them.

I mean I was thinking of "glory days" for my own experience.

The days when I was excited to rent a Sega game every weekend.

I didn't literally do market research on my nostalgia post lol

I guess my experience was different because I lived within walking distance of a local independent video store, so that's where my friend and I would go.

I didn't start going to blockbuster until the independent video store closed in 2000.

and the crazy thing is if you head over to r/wallstreetbets they are dead fucking serious about holding. they will not sell no matter what and it’s a risky game they’re playing.

ehhh some of em may be serious. Many aren’t seriously going to hold till $1,000. But they are going to say they are to keep the “pump” going. It’s coming down right now it seems

I didn't start going to blockbuster until the independent video store closed in 2000.

We oscillated between Family Home Video or Blockbuster.

I don't really recall when or why my parents picked one over the other, but I don't think the Family Home Video place closed before we moved away.

Blockbuster probably did what corporate always does.... drive down prices and offer the consumer more for less.... loyalty program stuff.... until the local spot was run out of business.

Remember when you'd go in to a Blockbuster and if you went looking for something new, video game or movie.... it was like a 10% chance there would be a copy available lol and if you were a kid looking to rent a new game.... and there was that 1 copy remaining on the shelf.... you felt like you won the fucking lottery lol.

well tons of boomers are now signing up for reddit and that’ll keep the pump going longer. problem is once the boomers get squeamish from the media and talking heads and start to sell so will everybody else
