How do you guys deal with it? Against my better judgement I'm asking here and venting a little bit, it's been a bit hard lately, between everything at home with my dad having cancer and school piling up, it's been more crazy then usual for me. I usually have anger problems but can keep it restrained basically 100% of the time. Every once in a while I punch something or have a small blow up if I get a little to chippy towards everything. But lately everything is snowballing for me. My girlfriend can plainly see how miserable and angry I am anymore. And for the life of me I can't just talk it out, I don't know why, but I literally cannot do it, I have tried. She thinks I need to go caveman and just go to a remote area and blow up. I gave up drinking 3 weeks ago because it was making my stress and anger even worse, so I have been trying to fix this. So what say you gents, what do you do to relieve stress and anger when there is more then usual?

Fapping.

Sucks to hear Vick, hope you find a way to manage that works for you.

What really helps me is to honestly slow down and relax with everything. Easier said than done of course, but the saying is "Slow down to go faster"

Become a very insecure human, and start picking fights on the internet. Seems to be the most common way of dealing with stress in the 21st century.

I relieve alot of stress & anger by doing martial arts. (been doing it for almost 7 years)

Sparring with people really loosens me up.

Great idea. Any pysical activity where you get your heart rate up and sweat will help you out though if martial arts isnt your thing.

Working out helps me. Run, swim, or any cardio. I hate wieghts but a good sweat gets your mind right.

I can relate to you. For years, I have struggled with anxiety and worry, mostly caused by stress. I learned how to master my own mind though. When I start feeling like I'm losing control of things in my life I do one thing: SIMPLIFY. It might sound weird but it does help. I cut out the things that distract me and cause me to lose focus. Then I dedicate my time to making myself better and doing what I can to change my situation. It's tricky, especially in a relationship. You gotta do your best not to take your anger out on innocent people (which I am really bad at, just ask my boyfriend lol). Also try to assign a specific time every day where you are able to be alone and just reeeeelaxxxxx.

Sending warm thoughts and a hug your way!

Take a truck full of old things and furniture you don't use anymore or are getting rid of, bring a sledgehammer, drive to a remote area and beat the shit out of that stuff with your sledgehammer. It feels good to let all your anger out aggressively

I am a big fan of transcendental meditation, but it is not for everyone.

I am not a big fan of your girlfriend who suggested you disappear into the woods to deal with your stress rather than just getting naked and going all carnal on you for the next several hours.

So either learn meditation or get a better girlfriend....one is bound to work.

The thing that works the best for me is working out. Great place to take out that aggression in a positive way. Plus the byproduct is that you get healthier...started doing yoga about a year ago and it works wonders for your mind/body as well as your stress levels...plus you are surrounded by girls in yoga pants stretching, so a double benefit really...

Either way you need to do something to get yourself more balanced...stress is literally a killer..

This. For me though lifting does it for me more than anything. I was never a morning person, but over the last 6 months or so I've been forcing myself to get up early enough to work out for like 1.5 hrs every day before work. I have a pretty stressful job and it's worked wonders. Feel better all day, more sharp, drink a lot less, sleep better at night etc etc.

When i am stressed I usually visit the Ladies section of Sunbiz' gym and hurl insults and rotten fruit at Ole and HHM, I highly recommend this.

Stop being a Cubs fan, but seriously folks.....

Workout
Find a quiet place to relax if even for 10 minutes
COOK YOUR OWN FOOD
Write out your thoughts
Call a friend

Sorry to hear about your father.

None of these things seem realistic... :D

Stress is always there. For me I find it much easier to deal with because of my relationship with God. I can go to him or to one of a numberof brothers or sisters in Christ and just share what's happening. And almost without fail the stress is gone. The situations are no different for me now with God in my life than before, but how it gets handled is a millions times different. Praying for you.

I'll add another vote for picking heavy shit up and putting it down at a gym. Any time I have an unusually high amount to of stress I mainline a large amount to of pre-workout supplement and do a back workout. It gets the stress out really well but I have a hard time coping with how sore I am for several days

Thanks for the advice ladies and gents, I appreciate it, I'm trying to be a little bit more optimistic and simplify things, unfortunately I don't have the time gym on a consistent basis yet , but soon I will, so hopefully that helps.

You have to make time :) There is never time (for most people anyways)...

Yoga and massage. I know that sounds pretty hipsterish, but man has it helped me. A good massage by an accredited therapist can work wonders for stress, even without the happy ending.

Don't get me wrong, I understand the time issue - I do, but it's a lame excuse.

You could do push-ups, sit-ups, squats, burpees all at home. Plus there are more than a few apps that can download to pace you with those things. And there's always running.

I like how you use the word 'simplify.' Don't spread yourself too thin.
