I think an NHL goalie would have stopped that goal. He just blew away that defender with his speed. They're going to be no match for him over there.

And, AND! They didn't make him or Tyler Seguin take the faux-Spartacus/Mad Max/300 hockey himbo team roster photos. Boooo!
This is what I came here to see, I needed a good laugh and nothing.

Don't lie. You just wanted to be able to see more pro athlete guys all scantily-clad and faux-tan bronzed up, wearing nothing but heir pads and their muscles. Just because you're married and just had a baby doesn't mean anybody is buying your whole hetero breeder act man.

Swiss league continues to beef up.... with NHL players. Chris Kelly of the Bruins heading over, HC Red Ice of (Swiss National B League

Del Zotto on his way over to join Rapperswil-Jona Lakers of Swiss National A League where Jason Spezza has been for a month now.

The Vancouver Sun reports Cory Schneider is looking to take advantage of his secondary citizenry, and hook up with a Swiss club as a non-import during the lockout.

"My father has Swiss citizenship and we actually did the paperwork a long time ago to get it for my brother and myself," Schneider said. "That's a nice thing to have so maybe it makes more sense for me to go there than anywhere else if I can do it."

I'm sure there are a lot more, that's just what I saw in the rumor page today

Their goalie was/is injured. That was some 37yr old guy.

Just a little info...

There is no flying they bus to all the games. Farthest I guess is three hours. Playing in the Champs for Charity and the 9 hour flight the next day it's going to take a bit to get equalized. There is also a definite language barrier.

First game he was paired against Zetterberg.

Which is kind of sad considering Switzerland has four official languages, lol.

Update: Brown won't play in Russia

1:10PM ET

Dustin Brown | Kings

UPDATE: Turns out the Kings' captain wasn't keen enough on playing in the KHL.

TSN's Darren Dreger reports Dustin Brown is about to join the Zurcher Schlittschuh Club Lions (Zurich Lions) of Switzerland's National League A.

Former NHL coach Marc Crawford is currently behind the bench for the ZSC Lions.

10 day break between games? What the hell are they doing in Europe? Whats the point in playing in a league to stay conditioned if you have a 10 day nap btw games?

Should create a lock out leagues when this shit happens. Take a few states/provinces close to each other form some teams put out a little schedule and tour around smaller arenas doing a 50/50 split of revenue btw the lock out league/players and charities of the local communities they play games in.

I know this is all impossible lol. Just being dumb. 10 day lay off...what sort of shit league is Kaner playing in?

He said 10 day break between the upcoming games, not between every game... and it's Europe, what do you expect from those lazy bastards. Hiyoooo... as for your idea, it's a lockout, they are all still getting paid aren't they. at least eventually.... I think they'd be ok with anything that keeps them conditioned and playing, Frankly I'd love to see it happen just to see what happens when players pick their own teams.

It would be an amazing P.R. stunt by the players involved also. Wanna win fan support..stick around north america and do something for the fans and the smaller communities that never really get to see nhl players live...even if it is complete watered down fake games. Kids and families would love it. Playing in Europe isn't really something the fans care about anyways (sorry to offend the euro fans here but majority rule in this case). Also playing in Europe must piss off Euro born players who are losing ice time in their leagues.

Really wouldn't be that hard to organize if its just contained within reasonable travel distances. Could have a group of teams tour the West while others do the east, Midwest etc etc I'm sure a lot of players would be up for it. Would cost some money to run and operate so that's where the split gate receipts come in. Plus all the concessions etc etc everyone wins and the NHL owners look like giant assholes while the players look like they actually care about the fans. And who doesn't love the idea of charity? Hell some NHLers should be getting together right now to hold a few scrimmage games to raise money for the hurricane relief. Shame that the NHL isn't in session right now because it's always been a good league for donating to charities like these. Im sure players and owners are contributing but it could be so much better.

Just thinking outside the box. Might be some contractual law lock out shit I dont know about. Always is.

Doubt it. They are playing with the best players in the World. I seriously doubt ANY of them have a problem being able to say I played with "so and so". I'd think they'd gladly give up some ice time to have a guy named Kane, ovechkin, Chara, Malkin ect ect on their team.

Just what RK said... the guys who are getting nixed for players like Kane take it as a badge of honor.
