Some fans may rejoice in his absence. But defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, whose direct, honest answers about players have stood out at Halas Hall, thinks losing McClellin for any amount of time is significant.
“It’s twofold,” Fangio told the Sun-Times on Wednesday. “We’re going to miss his good play and him quarterbacking our defense.”
Let’s be clear where Fangio, who has coached Hall-of-Fame and All-Pro linebackers in his career, stands on McClellin.
“I like him,” Fangio said. “His future is bright. He’s playing good for us. Obviously, we think he’ll play even better as we move on through this season and in the future. His future is bright here as a linebacker.”
