See, that's the rub. People like you can't see what I see. There is clear precedent, but you choose to ignore it. You simply lack the vision necessary to understand what's going on. Tell me WHY I'm dense, if you can. What makes anything I've said wrong?

You're dense because you can't even understand that one action leads to another by default. Kinda how signing a talented player to your team will, by default, not allow him to sign to another team. You're not wrong in that sense, you're just stating the extremely obvious side effect to signing a piece that brings you closer to a championship. You attempt to dress up your "no shit" thoughts with fancy rhetoric, but it's just transparent retardation on your part.

So no one gives a shit, and like a monkey, slings excrement at your posts. (Clever!)

You're doubling down... contradicting yourself with a weak argument.

And that, ladies and shills, is how you execute a classic rope-a-dope.

It's not that you're wrong, it's that you think you're some visionary, but all you're doing is using faulty logic. Let's take Aldridge as an example:

Aldridge signs with the Spurs last off-season. You seem to think the Spurs signed him specifically because now he's not going to the Mavericks, or the Lakers, or 27 other teams. Most actual human beings (myself, Novak, and nearly every other member who posts on this forum) think the Spurs signed Aldridge because he can help their team, and oh by the way, the best PF in the history of the game is near retirement. That he didn't sign with 29 other teams is a by-product of the Spurs thinking that LA can help them. It's like you think in a sport with a salary cap that teams sign players that would be of no use to them.

This shouldn't have to be explained to you, but here we are.

As usual, gus with an A+ post. And you did it all without sounding like a know-it-all jackass. Kudos, sir.

Yes, obviously Aldridge is a good player. They signed him primarily for that reason.

My point is teams target players they know a rival team covets. It's the nature of competition.

In the case of Kevin Love, Cleveland gave up a lot to get him when they clearly had no role for him. 3-pt specialist is not an appropriate role for one of the best PFs in the game. Love, like Bosh, has been relegated to being LeBron's 3-pt *****. Stats and performance got significantly worse after they joined LeBron. You cannot ignore that the Bulls were favored to get both players before LeBron led teams swooped in at the last minute to get them.

In hindsight, the only real benefit of signing both players was to keep them away from rivals in the east and maintaining a competitive advantage over an extremely weak conference.

You vastly underrate what Bosh did for that Heat team

No, I don't. Bosh was vastly underutilized playing with LeBron. Bosh even said so himself, and warned Love publicly what to expect playing with his "highness".

Bosh's defensive ability is what made that Heat defense so potent. So yes his offensive role took a backseat to Lebron and Wade, but he was still way more valuable to the Heat than Love ever was or will be with the Cavs.

But sure, the only benefit was keeping Bosh away from everyone else in the East.
