Sean Deveney of Sporting News (don't really know how credible he or the site is just something I came across) has said that Taj is connected to teams like Toronto, Portland, Detroit and Phoenix.

What kind of a deal (if this is true), do you think the Bulls could be looking at making?

I doubt they'll trade him unless there's another strong defensive player coming back.

Arron Afflalo, Wilson Chandler, and Reggie Jackson are the names being thrown around. Not that any of them are straight up, or that teams have expressed mutual interest in any of the reports I can find.

Also, nearly everything I see suggests that not a single inside source has been able to confirm Sean Deveney's report.

Thought I saw Goran Dragic's name as well.

Then add him to the list of unconfirmed names thrown out there. LOL

Dragic on this team would be interesting. We all know Pax likes his white guys.

God, you're incredibly negative.

I responded to the OP's question about what the Bulls would want for Gibson. What's so negative about expiring contracts and a lower 1st round pick?

Surely the Bulls can't move Gibson without getting another big back in return as well. You can't do a straight up Gibson for Afflalo trade. The front court becomes very thin.

The more I look into this rumor the more I think it's just BS.

Yeah, the Bulls can kiss my ass if this happens.[emoji1]

The trade is probably BS, but I think Gibson for Afflalo does a lot of good things for us. Our frontcourt isn't thin without Gibson. We still have Noah, Gasol, and Mirotic as the primary three with Bairstow and Nazr available in emergencies. It's not as good as Taj obviously, but we get a huge backcourt upgrade in Afflalo as he can hit 3s as a high rate and play good defense.

If Gibson is on the block it might be a cash savings move so the Bulls can sign Butler and try to stay under/near the tax. If that is the case, the Bulls will be taking expiring contracts back.

Although Afflalo makes sense for the Bulls, it does not make much sense for the Nuggets. Faried is signed long term and he is a better player.

I don't think the Suns would be very interested in Gibson. They have the Morris brothers and they picked up Wright an I think they like Len too.

I don't see the Thunder making a move that adds salary. They are over the tax and not a big market team. Also matching contracts with the Thunder is going to be difficult.

I have not seen any Gibson trade ideas that make sense for both teams. It will be interesting to see what the Bulls do.

They would not be thin in the front-court without Gibson. Hell, they've been heavy ever since the season started. I like Affalo a lot but I absolutely LOVE Gibson. But something has got to happen and this team needs to be shaken up otherwise they might as well pack it in with another lost year under their belt.

Who really knows any team with anyone on the trading block? I haven't heard anything like that this season...which is a little weird

OF the names mentioned in the news, Affalo is interesting unless something happens with the Clippers as in Barnes and Crawford.I doubt the Clippers do that deal though they really could use Gibson and Barnes looks to be to be having somekind of mental breakdown right now:(

I would take Crawford in a heartbeat though. He can create offense any time he wants.

Clippers coulda had Afflalo but opted for JJ Redick instead

i still to this day think they messed up not doing the Afflalo deal

but they need a SF in the worst way...their SF depth is worse than ours...they would kill for MDJ acually

NO doubt about that. Do you think, though, that the Clippers would give both of them up for Gibson?

I haven't watched a lot of Clippers games this year. If their back up frontcourt players are not cutting it, they might be willing to give up both for Gibson, but I find it highly unlikely as then their backcourt depth gets wrecked.
