I responded to the OP's question about what the Bulls would want for Gibson. What's so negative about expiring contracts and a lower 1st round pick?

Expiring deals are losing their value as the salary cap goes up. I'd love to unload Gibson to a team willing to unload a young, redundant asset. The Bulls obviously need to plan on extending Butler and should look to start reworking the team around Butler, Mirotic and (a hopefully still working the rust off) Rose. Noah hasn't been healthy the entire season and unless he's willing to take a paycut, the Bulls may be wise to move on when his contract expires.
As far as expiring/young asset deals, I wouldn't mind the Bulls trading Gibson and Snell to Sacto for Derrick Williams' expiring deal and Ben McLemore. Williams can slide in as a rotational big and Ben McLemore gets a change of scenery. He's shown flashes of being an efficient shooter, but the toxic coaching situation he's been subject too certainly won't help him grow. Sacramento is in need of a defensive-minded big man to help DeMarcus Cousins and Gibson certainly is an upgrade of Jason Thompson. Gibson also gives them the opportunity to play small ball and shift Rudy *** to the four. Snell is obviously there to match salaries and add depth at the two and three.
There are other options out there -- OKC, Portland, maybe Milwaukee.... although I don't see the Bulls improving another team in the East.
