Angels already have a shit ton of money allocated and do not want to cross the luxury tax threshold, similar with New York. Dodgers are out because they rather spend the money on Kershaw.

Angels didn't talk to him. Dodgers are saving money for Kershaw. Yankees are at 183M already with Arod out.

I think its will be either the Red Sox, White Sox, or Mariners.

Who knows with this Tanaka stuff. So & so team is out then in..etc.

My head is spinning. Can't wait for this to be over with, regardless if he lands here or elsewhere.

I'm not saying he is definitely coming. But, the Sox have a low payroll, and have been rumoured to have allocated money away for him.

Unless the price tag goes way out of control, I think the Sox have a good chance as anyone given the competition.

I'm calling it. White Sox sign Tanaka to 7 year 120 million...and I proceed to order the mlb extra innings package haha

This just has a sneaky Sox feel. Need asses in seats. Hahn will close this and cap off a magnificent offseason minus a catcher which is possible per Phil Rogers. He said the Yanks are looking for infield help and we could be a match.

And my guess is the whole "his wife prefers west coast" is a leverage ploy. That's all that is.

Angels had such a terrible season they won't sign him. They're strapped enough. I'd say too White Sox, Mariners but I think the dodgers are a real threat.

@CST_soxvan: Industry source suggests Tanaka price tag to hit $140M. Reinsdorf's absence at meeting suggested warm, not hot #whitesox interest
