I just walked by a TV in the hallways here at work and a certain American news network...cough cough...Fixed News...was claiming it is a terrorist attack and trying to make the leap that it is probably Arab extremists behind it.

I understand that with the various systems opperating within our world that these things will happen, but I hate when children are targeted and involved. (So what...I'm a school psychologist.) Thank God they aren't dealing with something a la Beslan, though.

Norwegian news reporting that Anders was very active on internet discussion boards and presented himself as anti-Muslim. He might have staged this attack as a Al-Q knockoff to incite hatred of Muslims in Norway and get them all deported, although him getting caught and looking more like Heydrich than Osama probably threw a wrench into these plans.

I gotta say when small countries like Norway get hit it doesn't make myself as a Canadian feel very safe. But then again apparently we are still to blame for letting terrorists through our border to get down south. So maybe we are in cahoots. I don't know how the intelligence community works (somehow I doubt this is a shock) but I would like to think that those involved within it don't advertise it. That too me sounds...well...not very "intelligent".
