No... I mean Brouwer, the guy who singlehandedly changed the momentum of the game with a stupid hit.[/quote]

Oh cause I was talking about the guy who singlehandedly gave the puck to a BJ right in front of an open net...and then failed to keep the BJs from scoring two more times wiping out the 2-0 lead we had for most of the game.

But continue to blame Brouwer if you want. I pin this on the journeyman, minor league quality Dman playing in a 4th Dman role for a Cup contender...and not very well I might add.

Ya... the 5 minute major had nothing to do with it

PS: Those ML defenders you're talking about suck and didn't help the situation.

I'm sure Troy knew that his hit was going to earn him a 5 minute major that would cost us ONE more goal against. Yes, Troy, you are one selfish prick for making us lose like that. Give me a break, this is a new low for you Stu. Blame a guy for a hit resulting in a shitty penalty when it was TOTALLY legal for him to do it just 6 months ago. WOW.

I have to agree with TCD here. This loss is nothing spectacular or defeating. No more important than any other loss. The question is: Who is going to start producing secondary scoring? Sharp and Hossa can't continue to be the only guys putting pucks in the net on a regular basis. Toews and Kane need to pick up the scoring as well. I know we had cap issues but I was hoping that at least a couple of the guys we brought up would contribute something to the scoresheet. Skating brilliantly down the length of the ice and getting into the offensive zone with ease doesn't put points on the board when you then proceed to turn the damn puck over to the other team. Where is Dowell? Brouwer? Skille? Pisani? Bolland? Helloooooooo? Dave??????? Where did you go??????? Yes, the defense sucks ass right now with the absence of Campbell so they get a bit of a pass from me.

I wouldn't say it was Brouwer, rather Keiths turn over then Hjarlmarsson for the winning goal....

Toews did score. And that line was HOT until Q once again changed them mid first period.

Yeah, Ron, I know and I was happy to see him get a scrappy goal. I am talking more in general terms than this particular game.

I know. I just mean he's been maybe trying too hard. Tonight Q had him going then yanked the line to hell. Without any stability these guys aren't going to gel quickly at all.

Kopecky whacked his head last night. They held him out as a precaution tonight, thus Brophey being called up.

I agree with that 10000000000%. Q should leave Pat-Johnny-Pat together.

A point about Hossa. I know this guy is fucking awesome, but did he get slashed or something on the hands two games ago? All of a sudden he can't seem to stick handle very well.

Other teams are on him like flies on shit. Last three games he has no room. Unless he's god.

The break away the game before he was on an extended shift and clearly out of gas near the end and even then Louongo made a fantastic save!

St. Louis, first two goals were directly after Duncan Keith GA's.

Tonight as I posted in the other thread, goal #1 was Duncan being man handled by the puck carrier, goal #2 was part of a bullshit 5 minute penalty, and goal #3 was Hjarlmarsson willy nilly clearing the puck to the Blue Line right to the Jacket who shot it and then it redirected twice, bam 3-2.

Right has Hjarlmarsson did that I went "what the ****" then 2 second later goal. I hate seeing it happen like that. I'd rather not see it.

Well, in summation for all my posts tonight, Boynton was on the ice for all three goals against, and directly caused one of them, so he is the goat in my opinion. You can take it or leave. IMHO.

The 2nd which was a PK. A five minute PK. I'm more worried about the ES goals against. PK will always allow goals from time to time regardless of who's on the ICE. Both ES goals tonight were caused by our more talented D men.

Thats was disgusting and it happened because Keith was trying to body Voracek instead of playing him positionally and having stick on puck. And then Boynton may as well have broke his stick if he wasn't going to bother using it to tie up Nash's.

Hawks really need to simplify their game in the O zone, they are passing up shots and attempting to be way to pretty out there. I think I can count the number of second chance shots on my one hand tonight.

Pretty shitty weekend but I wonder if the loses were to say the Sharks and Wings instead of the Blues and Jackets if it would seem as bad?

Good question but I think they way they lost them, the team really doesn't matter. Giving away points you could easily have sucks. Long season but the guys who should be playing Good, better start soon.

And Like Duncan said who ever did the Schedule just fucked the SC Champs out of the gate. They've now played 4 games in 6 nights, two weeks in a row. This next three days is the first three day stretch they've had with no games since the season started. Not a easy way to start out of the gate. Why one team has SO many more games to start than the rest of the league is more than puzzling. No time for practice and time to work on issues when the day after there's another fucking game.

last I checked there was no Olympics this year. There are still some teams that have only played 5 games, while the Hawks are now at #10 and lead the league.

I love the Toews interview after this game. No excuses. Just telling it like it is. That's why he's the captain of this team.

On the 1st Columbus goal, another Hawk needs to be thrown under the bus. Dowell was going for a skate in Millennium Park. The Hawks had numbers back from the blue line in. Dowell was mesmerized by the puck carrier and did not bother to pick up the late man(Brassard) that scored the goal.

That's what I noticed on the replay at the game. If Dowell does anything resembling tying up Brassard, then it makes it a hell of a lot harder for him to put that puck in the net.

Also, who was it carrying around the indianheadnation.com sign in the 300 level last night??

Seriously. That locker room postgame interview is the brutal shit! Within the boundaries of being the Captain, face of the franchise and without pointing fingers and perhaps demoralizing anyone he finds a perfectly frank way of describing the Hawks problems. In the video of the WGN sit down interview he is awesome too. God, I LOVE that little hardcore motherfucker so much it's ridiculous!!!

here my view, very simple, agree with me or not. Hawks saw that they were playing BJ's came out flying scored two goals and took the rest of the night off, you can blame it on be tired, to many games and all that, but IMO they mailed it in the first. To bad.

I don't mean to keep bringing up negatives, but I didn't really think much of Brophey in his debut.

This is one they just have to take and throw in the garbage. I think they'll play hard against the Kings with a bounce back performance. That's something I loved Dale for, that's all he ever asked is for his players to give 110%, and given the fact that he maintained a good relationship with all of them they listened. I don't mean to turn this into a Tallon thread but so far I haven't really seen the same expectations from Stan.
