That Sharp goal went off of Toews...unless I was imagining things. Hope the stat correction gives him 4 goals on the night, Toews needs to break the 40 barrier this year. *Knock on wood*

Nice game by Toews, Shaw, Hossa, Saad, Crow, Leddy, Oduya, most everyone 'cept Khabi, though the first goal was a weird play, and the third goal looked like it might have been tipped in. Someone should have knocked Turris on his ass - and we had almost killed off the PK - when he scored their PP goal. Khabi got jocked on the last goal. First line had 4 goals, 5 if the first went off of Toews.

... Also, when you have a two goal lead late in the game, trying to execute a cross ice pass in your own D-Zone is NOT a good idea.

Was anyone else pissed off about the icing call that Sharp was actually there first on? That's just what I was afraid of with the new icing rule and too much ref discretion.

Sharp CLEARLY would have got there first, yet it was ruled icing. The refs then huddled up and decided to move the faceoff to center ice. Olczyk actually said they made the right call and never mentioned it again.

"Right call" my ass. If the right call was made, Sharp would have possession of the puck behind the Sens net.

P.S. Time to bring out the Habby photoshops again

I was watching the Ottawa feed. Anything to avoid the giggle twins.

Sharp was there first, and they said the center ice faceoff was a "my bad" according to the refs.

I would consider it a safe bet that this will continue to happen in the future.

I'm just throwing this out there, but Raanta isn't the answer to the backup goaltending problem. While he's super athletic, that makes up for the mistakes he makes in positioning and rebound control. He always seems slightly off his angle, which you can cover up better at the AHL level than you could at the NHL level. Also, he has a tendency to kick plenty of rebounds right back into the slot. I think he needs more time to fix a couple things, and he would be exposed if he came up to the NHL right now. Just my two cents.

They're human and they're still new to the hybrid icing. At least they admitted the mistake and went to center ice and allowed a change.

Is moving the faceoff to center ice how the rule is written after a bad call? If they don't miss the call, then they would have just let them play on correct?

I didn't read the rule entirely and I haven't seen this type of play happen yet.

Not sure if there's an addendum at the end of the rule for mistakes.

What a very entertaining game to watch, congrats to captain serious. Of course if we hadn't won I'd (we all would) be fuming right now. Worried about Khabi but we know Q likes his vets so he'll run him out for at least 1 or 2 more embarrasments then give Crow every game until Raanta cam at least show he isn't worse that Khabi. At least we know that Corey can handle any workload you give him. I hope.

I saw that yesterday live and was wondering WTF was going on. I don't have a DVR anymore so I couldn't go back and watch.
