Without Stålberg last two games would have been losses. But haterz gotta hate.

How did you come up with that? You are assuming no one else would have scored for the Hawks.

nobody else would have scored. Nobody else ever scores. We live and die by Viktor Stalberg.

We only win because Stalberg allows it.

I have never really understood the notion of picking on a player as a whipping boy. What's the point of that, surely wanting everyone on your team to succeed would be much better. Is it a Chicago sports fan thing, that you have to complain about something no matter what or how trivial?

Patrick Kane is awesome... that is all.

Oh, and.... Jonathan Toews had some severe bad luck last night, he could have scored like 3-4 goals but Rinne/luck were not on his side.

Hope he can keep it up, but I won't hold my breath.

That was a nice play by him, and it was nice to see him keep his skates moving to get the space and make a nice move to get free of the defender. It was also nice that his stone hands were not in play on that shot. Still not sold on him, but there has been a noticeable difference in his play this season...he just needs to get rid of them stone hands.

Umm because no one else did.

We'll see where he goes. Right now he looks pretty good. Like Rex said he'll need to keep it up, but there's no saying he cant.

Kaner was hands down the star last night either way.

Was very close to the first goal he scored on Saturday night. Wish Brunette had his speed.

No doubt that Kaner was outstanding. He is on a different level this season, and that is very obvious.

Through 11 games at least, I'd argue Kane-Hossa-X is our 1st line. They are fucking solid. No slight intended to Toews/Sharp, but Kane and Hossa are on fire.

Kane-Hossa-Sharp looked great last night, and Stalberg does play well with Toews. Again, just two games, but hopefully I'm bashing him in November making excuses saying "It's only been 15 games" lol

Stalberg sucked all last night until that one play. He was easily the worst forward on the ice per minute. He missed some other great scoring chances. There wasn't one of us that wasn't yelling at him all night. He did not play well last night, he had a good play. And that's been the knock on him as much as anything else inconsistency. Remember last year when he had that 3 game stretch or so... He came here, sucked, then showed why they got him for a few games, then sucked the rest of the year but people won't let go of the few games he's played well... Guess what, he has one move and you saw it last night. That's not enough to keep him on this team. He needs more. And he'll go right back to sucking. I'm glad he had a great game last game, I didn't see it actually, and I'm glad he had the game winner last night, but he should have just as easily had a goal in regulation and not cost the team a point. See how that works. If you want to say he was the reason they won the game last night, and not stellar play from Hossa and Kane, then I can make the assumption that his hands of rock cost them a regulation win, and he handed the preds a point. The guy had a gaming winning speed goal playing 4 on 4... 4 ON 4. That's why they play 4 on 4 to open up the ice and increase the chances of scoring.

I will be the first one happy for the kid if this is him finally breaking out. If he can keep this up then this team will win the cup, because it's obvious that they have the top end talent, it's the bottom pieces that they need to win. They addressed the grit with Mayers and Carcillo, and they are still looking for that secondary scoring, if Stalberg is it great, but there is no denying that he has sucked until this point. One good game, and a OT goal doesn't change anything, it's only a start.

It's a good thing a lot of you guys just started watching hockey, because you probably would have thought Sharp sucked too.

Sharp's first part of his career...prior to 25 - 116games - 19g - 19a

It was his second full season when he had his first 20g season (35pts at a -15 still), that he began to get it.

Stalberg's 25 - has played 125 NHL games...has 24g-18a. But if I just started watching too, I would think everyone has to be like Toews/Kane and have instant success or they suck.

But Tony Salmelainen would be able to do a few of those AHL plays Stalberg has done the last few games, as some morons suggest.

It was a pretty solid win from a team that basically had to play two men down after Keith was hurt. Scott didn't see much ice time after the injury to #2, and the defense had to eat long shifts. The PP looked better, although they didn't pot any goals-- but the kept Rinne on his toes all night. Again, a netminder kept the game within reach.

It sucks to give Nashville a point, but the Hawks walked away with 2.

I'll be heading to Florida for both games. Let's hope for a split or better.

Maybe we could trade Stalberg for Turris.

Ah yes, when Toews can't score he's robbed or it's bad luck, but when your hatee doesn't it's because he sucks. Gotcha.

Just to clarify... did you just compare Stalberg to Toews? First we're comparing him to Sharp... Now Toews? Wow... I guess I really am new to hockey because I haven't seen anything consistent out of Stalberg to compare him to anything more than Tyler Arnason.

Remember when Kyle Calder led the team in points? Let's start comparing...

Hey, Stalberg came up big when the team needed him. Hooray.

He had a big game when the big guns were held off the scoresheet against the jackets. Yipee!

You take away all the big guns and Stalberg becomes... well, Stalberg.
