actually, I didn't watch NHL on the fly. I watched reruns of Arrested Development after the game. All three of those goals were on the exact location, between the arm and the body. He made a huge amount of amazing saves, which is why i was scratching my head after those goals. I'm glad a goalie better than myself disagrees with me, really makes no difference though. To me they were soft. We agree on most things when it comes to the team here...just not the PP being an issue, or if those goals were stopable. no big

I'll agree with you on the PP being an issue if they are still having trouble after say 20 games. Right now, it's not a huge issue mostly because the last two games its looked pretty damn good.

We'll see how they fair on the road away from the UC.

The powerplay was getting good chances and cycling well after the complete abortion of the 1st powerplay of the game. once they settled it down they were doing what usualy works; Rinne was just making very good saves when shorthanded.

The PP isn't the big thing that needs to be addressed because of how this game turned out. I think the bigger issue was Brunette, Montador, and Lepistopheles (I think it was those three), all covering one guy and letting the second pred skating in unmolested to fire in the 2nd goal. If there's anything that IMHO needs to be addressed post haste it's the backcheck and D-zone coverage. It seems like right now only Seabrook and Hammer are the ones doing this.

I said last night that Kane was obviously built in a laboratory.

I think Lepisto has done well with his shot so far... very nice to have that depth on D between Montador, OD, and Sami.

In spite of Lepistopheles' miscuew on that play (I'm not sure if it was he or Monty that was supposed to cover that side), I don't see any reason that Lepisopheles should not be playing. As good as O'donnel has been, he's been just as good if not better (and IMHO both should be playing over Monty)

I remember it being Montador who was on the wrong side and got lost

Compared to our bottom-pair blue-liners from the last few years (Hendry, Boynton, Cullimore, Scott, Sopel, Barker, Walker, etc.), Lepisto, OD and Monty seem like all stars. So i'll cut them a lot of slack cuz how know how much worse it can be. They're role players who have been doing just that just fine.

Don't get ahead of yourself.

Montador and Lepisto look like allstars... O'Donnell is almost as useless as Scott on D. Not even in the same conversation as Montador and Lepisto. Not sure why it took so long for Q to realize that. Same with the benching of Olesz... wtf?

Yep, always good to shoot the shit with you Ron! Depth on D is very good, and a little surprising since we did lose a top four dman in Soup. But Leddy is developing fast. It'll be interesting to see the top four and what the rotations are with Keith out.

Also, even with the depth we have, i wouldn't be surprised if the Hawks add a dman before the deadline. Actually i expect that. As we were talking about last night...

Must have been looking at the Preds players. Ain't getting shit from us lol. Better not deal with the fucking Wangs!!!

Preds are close to extending Suter. Means they have to clear some space.

No body on this team is anywhere near as bad as Scott on the ice. Not even a conversation.

His wife's pretty preggo though so he does or did do something right.

I see the Preds dealing with the Wings about as much as I do the Hawks. Usually you dont deal inter division this far before the TDL.

Its pretty cool they have a 500 goal scorer scouting though.

Have you not watched O'Donnell? He is really really bad and slow... just not as much as Scott.

Whatever.... lets not even bother arguing semantics like I know you do, LOL!

O'Donnell......... Lepisto, Montador.....

One of those things is not like the other.... agree/disagree?

While he may be slow he's far more experienced, and skilled than Scott. Can't even compare them. That said Odonnell is a 7th D man. Scott is an AHL D man.

And what exactly is going on with your Avatar????

my hunch would be the Wings just scouting for upcoming games against the Hawks and Preds. No way i see us making a trade with the Wings, and I doubt Preds would either.

Hopefully Q sees the depth that we do on the blueline, and doesn't skate Leddy, Seabs and Hammer 30 minutes a game with Keith out.

Experience I agree 100% but he's old and slow now. Scott is just middle aged and bad.

Either way... O'Donnell isn't in the conversation when it comes to Montador & Lepisto.

I have had zero issues with O'Donnell. I have really have no issues with Montador and have no issues with Lepisto. All 3 of these guys have not been perfect (each one has made mistakes) but none of them have been horrible either. Perhaps Montador has made a few more mistakes than the others. He has also played more games to make those mistakes.
