you have heard there are some cap considerations involved, right? whats your alternative?

Can Hendry really be THAT bad? At the very least it would get him some more experience. I just cannot stand the 24 & 5 pairing...

Scott threw some absolute bombs in that fight, including one that seemed to bounce Westgarth's head off the glass. How often do you see a hockey brawler tap out, as the Kings winger did at to call the refs offer for the finish?

Clearly, Scott wanted to clear his good name after getting razzed for an average effort in a draw against Brad Winchester(notes) of the St. Louis Blues last month.

Give Westgarth credit: He hangs tough in his brawls, as he did on Nov. 22 in a solid bout against Chris Neil(notes) of the Ottawa Senators. But Scott's earned elite status as a hockey fighter in the NHL, from his two big highlights this season to his emphatic defeat of George Parros last season.

You can count on one hand the number of heavyweights you make time to watch brawl in today's NHL; Scott's near the top of that list. Not to raise the bar too high, but there's something Probertian about the way he punches.

Thanks Scott for not only earning your pay for what was the best right hands I have seen in about 8 years. But also for chasing Stu out of chat. I have a feeling we won't see much of Stu anymore it appears his balls have blown up. Guess I spoke to fast..he's patched up.

Great game Hawks. Great energy and a great defensive game. Officials took Craws shut out away but you guys didn't take the horrible officiating laying down. Loved so much tonight from everyone. That like the Ducks game was a team win. Starting to get some character back on the club this road trip has looked to do some great things. Hawks have been different since the Flames game. They are tightening up. Everyone!!!

So this is how it feels to win 2 in a row. Good effort again, despite shit officiating. Crawford been looking good.

Everyone played very good today. I was happy with the effort on the last day of the trip. I can't really complain about anyone. Bolland and Toews are both playing much better defense add in Dowell and they have very solid center defense. Hopefully they can keep it up.

Actually it chased Stu INTO the chat...

... That being said.... what an absolute BEATDOWN on Westgarth. It really makes sense now why NO ONE in their right mind will go with Scott.... you're going to leave with a broken face.

EDIT: Here's the hockeyfights.com upload of the "fight":

At this point it's not even debatable... not many old school beatdowns you see like that every day.

I have ripped on Scott a lot but it was just flat out awsome!!!!

I can't see anyone challenging after that one lol. Gotta be out of your mind. Scotts a scary dude...that look before the last punch scared the shit out of me. Poor Westgarth I am sure crapped them when he was being held bt Scott on the boards. He freaking taped out!!!! lol.

I have actually become a Westgarth fan too now. Guy has a hell of a hard head those punches would have grounded a lot of guys. Westgarth has some balls..no face left but still has his balls.

Great hockey fight. No MMA shit straight up head to head and Scott respected Westgarths life at the end of it lol. NICE!!!

That game was fun and Scott actually played a part in it. I am loving that our guys are sticking up for one another. Teams building chemistry nicely now it shows.

Almost as if the guys called a players only meeting? RK? Would you know.

As (one of?) the Turco-lovahs, if you dont let Crawford play until he gets 2 straight losses, you are dumb. The kid is hot as hell and is earning those pipes. I guess the best part is that both goalies have not been the weak spot and all that for under 2 mill.

Keep it up 50!!

Nice win. The boys seem to be getting the mojo back. Really controlled the entire game I thought, other than the moments the refs tried to take it away. And man, what a beating by Scott. I'll stop bitching about his skating for at least a few games after that!

+1... Crawford has earned another start, keep him in there. I'm certain Turco is serving in a mentoring role for him and I think this is a good situation for the Hawks.

That skull cracking at :35 made me turn a bit... never did that before, not during a video replay anyway.

With that in mind, I wouldn't want to be caught alone in an alley with that guy... cause yeah, that was one hell of a beatdown... Even though its an archrival of mine, I wouldn't wish that on any Queen... lol.

First off, Westgarth wasn't tapping out, he was giving Scott the respect he deserved after he just received an ass kicking. He could have turtled much earlier in the fight but stood in there and took it like a man. The fight was already over when he "tapped out", definitely just a sign of respect by Westgarth and he gets some points in my book for that gesture.

The official's face is classic:
