You're right but we've got two games on Calgary (64pts-8th), one on Phoenix (65pts-7th). Kings with (61pts-10th) have one game on us, but are losing to Caps 1-0 right now, Wild (63pts-9th) have one game on us.

When it gets to 6-7 points then they are in trouble. Until then it 1-2 games difference with 30 games left.

3pts with 60pts stil out there.

Yea.

with 33% of our team gone, and injuries to our star players almost every week, and only behind by that many points from the eight seed speaks alot of our talent. Malkin and Crosby out are out Look at Pitt now. I'm sorry like I mentioned before, if we don't make playoffs its not because we had no mojo, its because of crap calls called against us every other game. Like RK mentioned 6-7 points out then hit the panic button.

If we can reel off 3 or 4 games in a row we'll be in the thick of it.

very true, we need another win streak, but its not easy if teams ahead of us are winning too.

let the dumb fucks whine. Sackless, Guttless.... You've got to be kidding me. I'm learning a lot about some of the fans I've been around for years. It explains a lot of other things too in general.

And Whaler if you watch the reply from the reverse angle his ELBOW clearly comes up and gets Pisani right in the face. If my kid were playing in your "youth hockey" and that was not called, I'd be looking for payback after the game. Just saying as an angry parent whom ever was calling the game better not be around when I got back from the emergency room.

CLEARLY an elbow to the chops on Pisani. Should have been a GM and $20,000 fine with 5-game suspension for intent to injure. It was BLATANT....

While I am usually upbeat, the loss last night left a really salty taste in my mouth. Mostly since they had a 3 goal lead and could not keep it, but moreso is the why.

I think that Turco played well and played to win the game. The first goal he gave up was just "one" of those goals. He has the post and the puck got through like a mouse through a dime size hole in your wall. So not going to throw any blame his way in the least.

What got me was that when the Stars came out in the second being very physical, the 'Hawks response was to slow down. Not that I was looking for them to throw crushing hits as that only throws the 'Hawks game off, but I was expecting they would be a tad more physical but moreso keep the pace of the game quicker. That is what has usually gotten them over the hump....and scoring usually shuts down the massive physical play anyway.

The other thing was the no goal for Seabs. Replay's were pretty conclusive as you only need to the the front shot where the puck is in the back of the glove, and then the overhead to see the back of the golve completely across the line. The killer was that it was called a no goal on the ice.

However, the 'Hawks were keeping the Stars at bay though most of the 2nd period onslaught until the bench began to shorten. Losing an entire line for the 3rd is hard for any team. I do think that if they got away with only one goal from the Stars in the 2nd, they would have still won this game with they way they were playing.

In any case, still plenty of season left. The West is amazingly tight and it is more than possible that the 6-8 spots will be in the 80 point range. The 'Hawks are still in the thick of it, and if Stan can get the D-man he is looking for (basically a Sopel, but hopefully one that can skate faster), that will help the PK and not kill guys like Seabs, Keith, and Hammer. Also, I do like that the play for the last couple of weeks has been there to win games, the bounces are really going in the wrong direction. But still plenty of time in this season.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Fire
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
There is plenty of time left for the Hawks to kick it into gear.

I'm just not sure they have another gear.

A productive Marian Hossa would make a huge difference.

Sure is was blatent since he had to cross so much ice to make the hit....almost as much as Bickell in his "retaliation". What also got me was that as he was "finishing" his check, he left his feet before the hit. Just a dangerous and unnecessary hit to rub Pisani off the puck. Especially at that spot of the boards.

I really had to chuckle that he was called for interfering with Pisani. Sooo many other penalties could have been called (Boarding, for example) but interference was called.
