My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Fire
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Dogshit effort. I couldn't care less about the officiating, the effort just wasn't there. Kopecky has stone hands and is showing more and more why he shouldn't be in the top six. Hossa looks like dog shit out there. We've got one line generating any offense. Our coaching is pitiful, and Boynton should never play in the NHL again. I'm already looking forward to next season when we can replace some of these guys with players that actually BELONG in the position they are slotted.

Why is Leddy riding pine so fucking much, yet, Boynton is immune to benching? Why the **** is Boynton playing AT ALL? What does Kitchen add to this coaching staff? He runs our PK, it fucking sucks. He moves from PK to PP, and our PP starts to suck. Pretty easy to figure out the problem, isn't it? This team has problems and they aren't going to be solved overnight, or with moves at the TDL.

Skille and Boynton were both on the ice in the last two minutes.

This just isn't a good team. I look forward to the Hawks sweeping some of this garbage away after the season ends, likely on April 10th.

No reason to complain about the refs. Hawks had four power plays and they were completely worthless.

Hawks will likely make a trade soon, but it's not likely to matter.

Give me a break Hawks had ample chances on the powerplay tonight. They failed. Like I said Q can take some of the blame for that one or whoever decided to **** around with the powerplay unit.

Not buying that the officials cost them this game. Last game? YES but this one? No.....not even close. That's an excuse that gets more and more tiresome the more I hear it after a loss. Hope the coaching staff and the players and management don't look at it as an "officiating" problem. If they do we are going to be stuck with the same dead weight on this club that we have this year. Why change the real problems when we can blame officiating all the damn time? YAAAWN.

Hawks showed nothing tonight as far as wanting the game in my opinion. Was a total let down. Hit a fucking body and who let Dowell on the powerplay? Rewarding guys that have done shit all year? Nice Q. Nice coaching job there guys. Boyton? **** me go find a coaching job in the minors you can't play this level anymore. Nice one Bowman and nice one Q for keep playing the bag of rusty bricks.

What I said was Seabs showed frustration. I don't blame him but honestly think that chirping to the officials that much wasn't going to get you a penalty? Come one Seabs..that was bad timing. Don't blame anyone for being frustrated but again here lies the difference btw the team this year and the one last year and even the team the previous 2 years before. Rarely have I seen the Hawks show frustration or let the officiating get to them. This year I have seen it far too many times. I hate when players chirp off like Seabs did. Doesn't matter what team they are on I can't stand it.

But yah here come the replies suggesting I am blaming the loss on Seabs.

Anyways....The composure of the team this year is very different. I don't know why that is but you can sense it. Well at least I can. Maybe I am way out in left field though. I am also tired of the team playing like a bunch of sponges. You guys can yap about officiating being frustrating (which it has been on some games) but I think there are bigger concerns. This team doesn't make the playoffs this year until they learn how to play physical again. Either the guys are too banged up themselves to be playing more physical (which could be the case) or they aren't being motivated properly. Whatever.

With that said. It's obvious there are some nagging injuries on this team and the slack isn't being picked up on a consistent basis. Hossa is obviously bothered, Kanes ankle is obviously causing problems. Kane has not been the same player this year at all. You take those 2 out of the equation and no wonder this team is suffering. Throw in weird coaching moves and a team not willing to hit? No playoffs.

Yes the Oil does suck. Another effort like tonight and it will be a loss. After the loss to Vancouver, tonight should have been a statement game. Three shots on goal in the 1st = steaming pile of dogshit statement.

I really hope they make the playoffs this season, but right now I just don't see it happening.

Yah doesn't look or feel good right now does it? I like to remain positive the best I can but it's been too iffy of a season from day one. That "feeling" isn't there.

Game against the Oilers will be the game that says a lot if tonights already wasn't one that spoke volumes. Lose to the Oilers and the playoffs are as good as a pipe dream in my opinion. Win it and they can keep clawing but it has to be done so as if every game is a playoff game. Sad thing is this team will be burnt out by the first round of playoffs anyways. But who knows strange shit happens all the time. And those weird winds are found

But yah I really feel tonights game said a lot. I'm in a bigger funk about it than I was about the Canucks game to be honest. At least the team showed up on Friday night and looked like a team that was desperate and hungry. Tonight with 2 days rest and some bitterness in their mouths? That's the effort we got? Not sitting well.

Story of the season? Thirteen times we have gone into the third period, TIED, OR WINNING, and come out with ZERO FUCKING POINTS. That is completely fucking unacceptable, and tells me that the other teams just WANT it more than the Hawks.

Yah I would say that's a huge story. And yes not acceptable. Not even sure how that can be explained. That's 26 points right there. Not as if they would get all those 26 points as 3rd period loses happen here and there but yah 13 times in that position and without a single point? It's not pleasant to think about.

I know as a fan it's frustrating and I don't think for a second the team in the dressing room isn't frustrated either. They must be. But yes something just isn't adding up this year. Again maybe I expected more from this team than what I have seen. Certain variables have created some issues all season long but at the same time they haven't been enough to explain effortless games like tonight. And to be honest I don't think my expectations have been too high. I knew the team wasn't going to be close to the same as last season but I did think they would be able to compete a lot harder than they have been. I'm not happy where they sit in the standings and I am not sure there are any excuses that can ease that frustration. When you point out numbers like this Pez it makes it sit even harder. Take half of those 13 games and turn them into 2 point games and I'm fucking thrilled. I don't think that is too much to ask and not unreasonable.

I certainly don't think the Flames played all that well either to be honest. They did manage to contain Kane pretty well (despite him getting in on the one goal) but not sure how hard that is when the kid is limping anyways. There is no excuse for the majority of guys to take the game off like most appeared to tonight. And frankly I think they did tonight.

If we just get to OT in half of those games, we're sitting in the playoffs right now. In fourth fucking place none the less! That is how HUGE those third period letdowns are. We don't even have to win half of them, we just have to get to OT! ****, is that a frustrating stat... Terrible.

I've been updating this on my twitter account, but the Hawks goal differential by period this year is: 1st (+13), 2nd (+16), 3rd: (-12), OT/SO (+1). If that doesn't tell you something, I don't know what does.

Well...maybe I should not have popped in and haunted the chat.

Anyway, I am still optimistic about this team that is only 3 points out of a playoff spot (yea I know there is a logjam), however Seabs you gots to keeps the traps shuts. Not blaming him for the loss, but I think what he did show the total state of this team right now. And Seabs is not the only one Frustrated.

Right now the coaching staff has to do something(s) different:

  • Keep consistent lines.
  • Stop putting Boynton out at the end of the game (The dude is too slow for this scheme, and does not play at home (which is what saved Sopel many times in this scheme)).
  • Have to consistently get guys other than Kopecky and Toews to go to the net.
  • Take a look at the current play schemes and realize the newer guys cannot play it right now (which allows other teams to put their better defenders out against the core). It is killing the puck possion scheme, and they just need to plain out simplify their game.

This coaching staff also needs to get the players to Commit to the Indian. Perhaps Savard can be the Ambasador coach for the rest of the month of something.

“F--- the power play,” Keith said after the game. “Nobody goes to the net to score goals. That’s why we don’t win." ( http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/blackhawks/post/_/id/4665876/angry-keith-says-power-play-not-problem ).

Frustration....but perhaps with destruction comes creation.

Shows how frustrated they are. Too bad, maybe they'll finally get it, but I'm not holding my breath.

I feel bad for Keith, Toews and Seabs. They seem to be the only ones who give a shit.

Kane was actually one of the only players going to the net last night.

He was rewarded by it.

The frustrating part is seeing players bust ass only to take silly penalties, or offensive zone penalties.

The Jeckyl and Hyde season continues.

Let's hope they can rebound and maybe pull a .500 record on the road before returning home.

Is it the stress of trying to live up to last year getting to them.

If only they knew, they have the talent to be in the thick of this league.
