After I post this...
So apparently Troy Murray had a Stu Like meltdown last night at the end of the game when John Scott got ejected for doing nothing. From what I heard he said... sounds exactly like what I said in the chat when it happened.
The refs job is to CALL the game not fucking manage it. You don't give someone a 10 minute misconduct for chirping... if that were the case no NHL game would ever be completed because everyone would be ejected. The ref's job is to CALL the penalty IF a fight happens... that ref didn't KNOW there was going to be a fight... it fucking pissed me off that this ref was trying to "manage the game".
Well guess what jackass... you eject a guy for chirping and then the goonery starts. How about you let Scott and Torres go and the whole situation is over with? I still think Torres has to answer to someone and I bet it might be Seabrook if he plays tomorrow... against Seabrook's better judgment that is.
Absolutely ridiculous to kick John Scott out... leaving him in would have prevented the goonery that ensued... but instead the ref tried to be the fucking hero and Stalberg had to pay for it.
What a fucking joke... glad Troy agreed with me.
Agree with everything but
Assuming Seabrook's injury his head related, I would hope someone else would pummel Torres. One right hand to the temple of Seabrook and we're talking career long concussion problems. most likely

**** Torres. Go after the Sedins. What made me laugh was even Don McLean on CBC said this during the intermission. They said the Hawks need not focus on Torres but need to focus on taking liberties with the Sedins. I laughed so hard as I have never hear the CBC guys say things like this before.
But Torres does deserve an elbow to the head also.
Took the 4th most faceoffs on the team close enough to all season for me. Is he better at it than Frolik? Yes but is no 2nd line center and you are correct, he is a bandaid and the best option we have but we need to fix that in the off season.
Sharp and Hossa's best stretch of the season was when they were playing together, with Sharp as center. Sharp was our second line center almost all of last season, and he sported a 52% in the faceoff circle. He was 50% in the playoffs as our second line center last season, in our CUP winning run. Playing center last season, Sharp put up 25 goals and 41 assists and was a +24, tied for best on the team. Playing CENTER last playoffs, Sharp put up 11 goals and 11 assists in 22 games. A point per game. He was a +10. Second best on the team.
You know how many teams would kill to have a second line center as good as Sharp? You guys are delusional. You also know how much you're going to pay for a "real" second line center? One that is better in the faceoff circle and puts up similiar points? I can't believe we're still having this argument. Sure, I'd love to get a guy in here like Kesler, or Staal, but the reality is, with how much money is tied up in our DEFENSE, that's just not happening.
Oh, and just for shits and giggles, Sharp has taken the third most faceoffs in this postseason so far, and is 64%, playing on a banged up knee.
I'm beginning to think it's you who are dilusional.
PS... Please don't watch the game tomorrow.
Here's my argument, he's a great second line center, but he's a better first line wing. To me it's that simple. I see it out there. It may be hard because of how great he's played at both positions, but I think you get more with him at wing instead of center and bringing in a center than you do with him at center and bringing in a wing. Who the hell do you think is going to replace him at wing and fit under the cap? It's got to be easier to find a suitable 2nd line center than first line wing?I spelled it for you in the post you quoted, and you still fucked it up.
I watched the game last night while working, so.
I'm still waiting to hear a good argument as to WHY Sharp isn't a good second line center, and who you're going to get to fit under the cap. FYI, "Sharp prefers to play wing." isnt' a good argument. Lots of guys "prefer" to play something other than what they're playing. Remember, Buff "preferred" to play defense. Sometimes it isn't about what the player wants, but what's best for the team. No, actually, it's always about that.
Sharp would prefer to play wing. When you leave your NOCHECK league and move to the NHL then you can tell me what NHL players think and do not think.
There are plenty of options of good players via trade, Hjarlmarsson being one, to find a quality, maybe young NHL ready 2nd line Center.
I remember Buff preferring to play Defense and low and behold look at his numbers up to Jan. Gee go figure.
Sharps production or a good portion is a product of his line mates. I love Sharp for his leadership and Skill but would prefer a real 2nd line Center. Hands down the best line on this team this year was the STK. To me that has TOEWS at Center.
I'm not a GM though, nor pretend to know anything about it.
Over 50% of Sharps points this year are a product of Kane and Toews.
I love how you always have to make shit personal. I get a good laugh out of it. Maybe you should look into getting up off your ass and playing a little hockey? Just saying. In my "NO-CHECK" league(a league you would probably die playing in), I prefer to play wing too. But, the team is better with me playing center. I play center a lot because there's no better options, and it helps the team. Sounds familiar.
As you can see, I already pointed out that Sharp prefers to play wing. You've made it very clear to us by the hundred or so times you've said it, that I think everyone knows it. How does that matter?

I agree he's a better winger than center, but first and second line is really semantics. Good teams have a 1a and a 1b. That's the Hawks with Sharp at center.
As we've seen, pretty much anyone can play with Toews and Kane and be successful. Look at the season Brouwer had with them last year... They just need someone willing to hit, forecheck, and create space. Guys like that aren't hard to find. Obviously STK is a fucking killer line, but with how much money is tied up in our defense, what can we really do to upgrade and move Sharp to that wing permanently? I'd love to see some logical trade proposals that land us a second line center, that we can afford under the cap, that doesn't gut the existing forward core.
So maybe they'll trade one of them? There's a thread for this somewhere as well. What you'd like to see in the off season.
You'd like to see Sharp perminently put at center. Noted.

I'm a realist. I don't live in a dream world with happy rainbows all over the place. Would I like to see the Hawks UPGRADE at center? Sure. Is that likely to happen? Not really. I would love to have STK together permanently, but I don't think that's going to happen. Unless of course we can find some idiot to take that albatross of a contract off our hands.
You are a realist, not an NHL GM. Who knows who will take what, when and where. As a fan I'd like them to keep the STK line together. Either way Sharps last year is next season. He will be a UFA and most likely his agent will want 6 mil plus. He may just be gone either way.
Never know what NHL GM's will do. Some do some crazy things.

Btw, I love how you twist facts to suit your argument. So 47% is now over 50%? That's some weird math.
