The dog pile celebration last night was great, it was like they won the cup in round one. I expected a ceremony after the hand shake where they all kissed the presidents cup and had fans come in and take pictures with them.

Not surprised, either.

They are the Caschmucks, after all.

Campoli was doing the right thing putting the puck up high to clear the zone. It is not like he made a soft pass up the middle that got intercepted. Unfortunately for us Burrows made a better play.

I put nothing more on Campoli for this loss than I would any other Hawk.

Same here, I immediately felt so bad for the guy.

He just really seems to fit in well with the team and I hope they resign him.

The worst part is Campoli was having a fucking amazing game until that unlucky moment. Not only that but time and time again when cameras paned to the bench he was talking with his team mates and showing amazing leadership and passion. Can't put any fault on Campoli at all. He had a strong series and has been great for us since the trade.

Hawks need to re-sign this guy. He fit like a glove and he has shown in his short time here that he wants to play hard and be part of the group.

Crawford played out of his mind last night. I give a huge salute to him and the rest of the team for leaving it all on the ice last night. What a terrific hockey that was. It's a shame the Hawks lost.

Sorry , can't sugarcoat Campoli's give away, it was a major **** up, and he manned up in the post game interview.

Hawks need a SAH defenseman with an attitude and skill more than they need Campoli.

I can't really agree.

I'd take Campoli over someone like Sopel any day. They need to re-sign Campoli, he's a top 4 d-man in the league. It's pretty obvious "stay-at-home" Boynton didn't really help much. Our D-core is reliant on puck moving guys, quick in transition d-men... I don't know if a slower stay-at-home type of guy will help that. Campoli fit like a glove, why replace him with a guy who is against the grain of our D philosophy?

Take out Hendry and get a stay-at-home guy for the #7 role if we really need it.

And which one of those stiffs is tough to play against? I am talking a more like Suter from Nashville

As long as you pay him out of pocket since as much as I'd like Suter on our team, never happen. Never afford him.

Hawks play a puck possession game and that starts with the D men controlling the puck out of their zone. Campoli fit in well in that style. Only guy missing from last year's D was Sopel and besides blocking shots, he wasn't tough to play against either. Leddy took Boynton's spot basically. Hawks need to rely on some forwards to be the sand paper and this year we didn't have that. I thought Dowell and Bickell would be those types of guys, but they showed the couldn't handle the role. Dowell especially! That is where we miss guys like Ladd, Fraser, Buff and Eager. We didn't replace those guys properly and I think that is what hurt us most. We were softer because of it.

Yep, we need Ladd back...he hurt the most when he went. I loved Buff but man Ladd was just so good at his job. But yeah I agree with what you said completely.

Seabrook.

Hjamlarsson was suppose to be one of those guys, but he really wasn't this year. I'd like to see him step into that role. I'd love a guy like Suter but lets be honest, we can't afford it unless Campbell is moved. I think regardless you have to keep Campoli, he was actually one of our most physical d-men in the playoffs aside from Seabrook IMO.

If someone would take hammer, i'm ok with it. I like the guy and the player and am happy if he's back, I just think his salary is a big high.

I hate to say it but we could use a D-man in the mold of a Willie Mitchell or Barret Jackman on this club. A d-man with size, some skill, and a good deal of attitude.

I agree, we need a crease-clearer, someone to keep douches like those on Vancouver in line.

I agree with what is said is needed, and the great thing is with the cap going up, pluse the bonuses coming of the cap, I think we should be looking at around 7-9 mil. Thats enought to get what we need to get back on top. Ladd was mentioned which I would love back, but isn't he the captain in Atlanta?

Don't know if you all saw this but, I noticed after game 7 there were a bunch of Nucks fans burning a Hawks jersey outside the stadium. WOW! very very classy. Must have alot of talban nucks fans in vancouver. FUCKIN ASSHOLES! Accept the win and act like you have been there if if ya haven't.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers

DBQ, thanks for saying it!!!! The grit we need is up front, not on the back end, and then only the bottom-6.

Really, Campoli just did what Keith has been doing ALL FUCKING YEAR! He just did it at the worst-opportune moment. Our main game is breakout and transition, and we need to add grit from there, not change our gameplan which has worked the last 3 years.

If we wanted sandpaper on D, there's only 1 move I would make, but there is no way in hell it would ever happen:

Hammer for Wizniewski straight up.

Exactly this....I don't fault Campoli for that clearing attempt one bit. He flipped it up high where only a lucky stab by Burrows glove got it....9 times out of 10 that clearing attempt is successful. And I'll take those odds ANY time....
