It isn't IHN without someone providing some form of evidence to argue any said claims.

Anyways, I see a Hawks win tonight... I just hope it won't be in OT this time... -.-

There is no conspiracy and there is no "help" for one team or another to get into the playoffs. That's crazy talk.

...and 'round here we've had enough of that in the past.

I could care less. A SOW will have me a bit worried for a tiebreaker, but as long as we get 2 points it's all that matters.

Each season 1 game at a time, each game 1 period at a time, each period 1 shift at a time.

You left out Carolina.

And none but Carolina were in the Salary Cap era where a team lost half the players from the previous year. So really not even Carolina can be compared to the Hawks.

They lost HALF the Stanley Cup winning team!!!

The fun of dreaming! Imagine if this team were still together. Especially seeing what Ladd and Buff are doing, and yes they have fallen off lately, but to just see those guys on this team again with Buffs physical presence vs Van and his battles with Pronger. Ladd in front of the net with his redirects, and his hitting. Versteeg had his fair share of dumb plays, but could make up for it a lot of times with a very timely goal.

Stan can tweak the 3rd and 4th lines till he's blue in the face but will never be able to recreate that magic.

While I agree I compare this team alot to the team two years ago. The one that missed the playoffs by 2pts. Not quite enough to get there, but had they, they'd have done damage.

I think with some extra Cap Space, Stans Daddy can re tweak the 3rd and 4th lines and add some depth at Center, which will make them a better team. Guys like Pisani, Bickell, ect that are not producing for lack of skill or just play, can be replaced with some that have better skills.

No team will repeat in the SC Era. The Wings were close but they were built right out of the gate, IE lock out, with a pretty talented young core.

This year was a tweaking year to begin with. No one expected them to win the Cup.

There are three scenarios that would get them into the playoffs before they travel home to play the Red Wings again in the regular-season finale Sunday.

(1) Chicago beats the Red Wings and Dallas loses in any way to the Avalanche.

This one is the most simple and straightforward. The Hawks currently have 95 points and the Stars have 93, and both teams have one game remaining after Friday. Obviously Dallas would not be able to make up a difference of three or four points in one game, so the Hawks would be in if this scenario were to come true.

2) Chicago loses in overtime or a shootout and Dallas loses in regulation.

The Hawks don't want to risk this one by losing, but if this scenario were to happen, the point they would earn for playing beyond regulation would be enough to put them three points ahead of the Stars heading into Game No. 82 for each team.

A Dallas regulation loss also would put the Ducks in regardless of how they do against L.A.

3) Chicago wins in regulation/overtime and Dallas wins in a shootout.

This is the most convoluted of the three scenarios because it involves a tiebreaking situation. In this scenario, Chicago and Dallas could still wind up tied in points at the end of the regular season, but the Blackhawks would be guaranteed to have at least one more non-shootout win and that would be enough to get them into the playoffs.

RK you mean three years ago. Last year they won the cup. The year before, they lost to the wings in the playoffs. Three years ago it was I believe Nashville that snuck in.

I wouldn't consider placing 7th to be "sneaking in" especially with being 2 points out of fifth, and 6 points ahead of 9th. but oh well

Yup 3 years ago. We lost out to Nasvhille two games before the Season ended.

The next year we lost in the WCF to the Wings. In a series that we weren't out of but for one game.

it was more experience IMO then, where as now it's depth. Experience is still here.
