I wouldn't consider placing 7th to be "sneaking in" especially with being 2 points out of fifth, and 6 points ahead of 9th. but oh well

The Conference is most definitely much more competative now directly due to the Salary Cap. The same reason we are not on top of the Conference.

I agree.

Two games left and only FOUR teams have clinched a playoff spot.

I was referring to last years Preds, but agreed none the less.

Rex I think you miss understood, I was referring to Nashville sneaking in three years ago, not last year. Nashville beat us out by two points, when they had home at home versus the bluejackets and won both. Mason played good in those games for Nashville. We owned the wings that year and beat them up bad and were hoping for the blue jackets to win for us to get in, that didn't happen. This was in 2008.

Good 60-minute effort by the boys....can't pin a bad game on any of them. Bring this again Sunday and we're in....

EDIT: Dallas won...good....now we absolutely HAVE to bring it on Sunday...

As a season ticket holder I have watched every game either live or on my DVD and with the talent Detroit puts on the ice every game and don't forget to mention a world class coach/ Mike Babcock wonder how you can think ANY team has EVER owned the Wings
<
and I HATE them but do respect them.

Great game by the boys at the Joe tonight. Was great to hear a lot of moaning & groaning from wangs fans early on. Was really impressed with Ben Smith tonight. Last game, too. Crawford was his solid self tonight, too.

I think we were one of the only teams to have a winning record against them that year. They went on to win the Cup. We missed the playoffs the 79th game. Had two more games, Nashville at home the next day and the Wings on the road. I happened to go down to the morning Skate the night Nashville rested half their players thinking that was the shittiest feeling about this team I'd had since the Blues cruised over our lame ass in 2002, but also had the feeling with Toews and Kane we'd be back there soon. So close, yet so far away at the time.

Gotta respect how the franchise turned things after Mr. Pizza got there. As for their fan base, **** them.

As for the game tonight what can you say. They played a team. Crawford was excellent and the D helped out the offense. Ben Smith and Kane appeared to have serious wheels. Wonder what Sharp would look like on the other side?

Every team we needed to lose, won. So the Hawks MUST do it themselves. As for the last month or so their destiny is in their own skates.

Was very pleased with the game, hope they do it again on Sunday in front of the home crowd.

Will have to bring my camera so I can get a pic of RK getting his jersey on the ice

Those days are long gone jackass. There are 11,000 bandwagoners getting a shot at it now. 1 in 4000 are pretty good odds.....

Drop the young and then I'll agree. The guys accomplished more than enough to not have the "young" factor still attached to his name, he's just that good at his job.

I actually had it without young at first and then I edited it out because I thought that was too pretentious. He is still 22.
