Please don't use Derrick Rose's name in the same context as Jonathan Toews'.

VERY fair comparison. Why shouldn't it be used?

Because in basketball, Derick Rose are a dime a dozen, use see one every year. Besides, Basketball is getto, and you know your getto when Mcdonalds is advertising you. Its only a matter of time untill some player shoots another player during a game, when they find out the opposing player is the babys daddy. Who my baby Bo!

Ben looked really good yesterday, any word on Kopey?, since I did not watch anything during the post game interviews. The shot from Stalberg looked like it cut his ear but I could be wrong.

You do know that Rose is on there verge of setting a sequence of season stats that only 4 other NBA players have ever done. One of that 4 is Jordan.

No I understand, I think Derick Rose is amazing, but! Come on guys, really think about it, I am not wrong here, in this country there is a far more talent level that you see enter the college level and into pro's. that was my meaning of dime a dozen. In Hockey you really have to get lucky to find anyone with talent that comes out. You may have a draft with no talent at all, and their has been that many times in hockey. Derick Rose is great, But untill he wins the whole thing, ala so called king james, do not compare to J.T. totally different sport too.

This has nothing to do with the topic, but here is why I hate watching basketball aside from the gettoness, in hockey every shift counts every seconds of the game is important and every goal matters in the outcome of the game...Basketball...haha..just tune in the last five min. since the lead will change ten times.

I believe that one can make comparisions of players between sports (and generations), when the comparison is impact to the team or sport. In this case the comparison is pretty valid IMO.

I get that you dislike basketball, heck I don't watch it since it is just fast "tennis" with a larger ball and smaller net and yes the last few minutes is all one needs to see, but I can respect the accomplishments of those that play it.

Something else to keep in mind is how many players are drafted into the NBA versus the NHL? How large are the developmental programs? Those are important as many players drafted into the NBA must be league ready from the get go or are in an out quickly where in the NHL those are are league ready can be rarer, but how many league ready players may get lost in the shuffle by the sheer number of picks?

Any way, back on topic: Nice game, nice statement. I just hope that the concert at the UC tonight does not have too much of an effect on the ice for tomorrow's earty game. At least I will know that if the floor around my seat is sticky tomorrow it will be because of me since I will be there tonight.

In my opinion the team MVP this year is Sharp not Toews. I'm not a Bulls fan and I don't know much about basketball compared to other sports. But I think Rose is pretty damn good. I guess my main point is we have resign Sharp.

I don't agree that he is the MVP ahead of Toews, but I've said it all year long, Sharp is the #2 forward on the team this year. But nope, I was ripped when I said that.

Sorry, but Toews, by far is the the MVP of the team this year.

Toews single-handedly, by his force of will, leadership, and most importantly, his play, put the team on his back, when we were on the verge of of falling into playoff contender oblivion, and led them back into competition.

He leads by example, do as I do, not say. His intangibles as the Hawks leader cannot be overlooked. To do so would diminish his importance.

Agreed. Although I wouldn't downplay Sharps importance either, but he is a distant 2nd IMO. And that is not meant as any disrespect towards him.

Sharp could be a captain on most NHL teams IMO.

Sharp (or Seabs - IMO he, currently, deserves the other "A") would be the Hawks captain if, god forbid (my phrase for the day), we didn't have Toews.

Sharp has great leadership skills and he never seems to get flustered or appear anxious.
