There is clutch or there isn't? You can't have it both ways IIRC

What was Dunn's numbers thru April 30 and then thru May 31when we still had a chance?

Fact Zero chatter on teams wanting him before July 31 deadline. Goes unclaimed after July 31. No chatter of anyone wanting him since he cleared waivers.

Yep Dunn is the man

I've clearly stated that there isn't clutch. Why else would I be mocking Joe for saying it?

In April in May Dunn was doing Manto's approach. Hence the results.

No chatter =/= no chatter reported.

Another thing, I don't hate Adam Dunn. So, lets make that clear.

Just because i'm not :fap:ping to okay numbers, doesn't mean i'm a hater.

Sorry, that I don't think he's been worth his contract.

Dunn hasn't been worth the contract for the most part, no. But, he had a solid 2012 (41 bombs), and he's been on a tear since he ditched Manto's approach earlier in the year. Yet, here you are, telling people its "drinking koolaid" to recognize his bounce back.

Sounds like hating to me......

Back to contracts: You think Dunn hasn't been worth his (and for the most part, he hasn't), but I seem to recall you fighting to the death for Rios (who has put up worse numbers than Dunn since 2011, btw).

You have said this multiple times. How do you know he did this and if so, when he did that? The stuff before has come out that Dunn is uncoachable. So I would be interested in readin anything on this. I am not saying you are wrong, but I would like something to back it up.

Just because we didn't hear that anyone was interested in Dunn, didn't mean no one inquired about him.

thanks for clarifying. And yes, that is true. However the KISS principle and the fact that he went unclaimed thru waivers makes your scenario unlikely at best.

this thread is full of failure. there are tons and tons of players not worth their contracts all over baseball like a spreading virus...and there will be more bad contracts again this offseason in all of baseball. teams state they dont want to "pay for the past" but they still will if they want to compete.

However, in the History of the White Sox the Dunn contract goes down as one of the worst in the franchise.

Again, more failure on your part. Sad really.

The only point you make is a strawman one which has been refuted. Please make a point other than your love of Dunn.

Let's see here, thru April 30 .148/.242/.375/.617
Thru May 31 .156/.246/.387/.633

Sox collapse and Dunn Succeeds. Are they related? Gotta say No, but it is interesting that when Dunn was needed most he was no where to be found.

Rios (who has put up worse numbers than Dunn since 2011, btw).

He did? Rios was better than Dunn last year and the first two months of this year when the team was in contention. I could be missing something though, wouldn't be the first or the last.

So I think this gets lost as Capt re-iterated for himself.

I was sad when Kenny messed up the trade for Dunn. I was happy we got him. I had no issue on the contract he was given. I wanted him to succeed. He has not and I think I have shown why.

Even if he went 60-60 with 60 homers it still can't help the 2013 team. I am glad he is playing well now. It can help him possibly get to a new team which I think is best for the 2014 White Sox.

I argued how Dunn was awful when the 2013 Sox needed him most. You show Dunn being good after the Sox tanked. No one argues these points.

Since 2011:

Alex Rios: .271/309/431/740 96 wRC+
Adam Dunn:. 200/322/412/733 99 wRC+

Its closer than I thought it would be. I think its pretty much a wash, but Dunn is still the, slightly, better player.
