One excutive thinks the Cubs will offer 7 years at 34M per. That comes to about 238M all together.

Will he take 7 years though? And would he come here?

7 years? IDK.. I doubt he gets a 10 year contract.. Probably not as the Cards offered an 8 year contract. Yes, I do think he will come to Chi-Town.

Cards 8-year was just 19-21 Million a year though.

Yet again you pad your post count and don't add anything to the thread.

Like this post added so much to the thread? That wasn't the intent at all. 1 Post doesn't matter when you have 6,950.

Yes, but your posts aren't always so great either bro.

Most people would have ignored that. Instead, you bloated it up with two pointless posts of your own. Maybe you should read that thread again too.

You have absolutely no room to talk. I brought up stats and you have said nothing to refute that. Or do you need Dewey to do that for you?

Dewey already did show stats, after you. Then, instead of leaving a comment alone, you made a dumb conversation about it with your own dumb posts. That is called hypocrisy bro.

No, Dewey has not made any posts after my post. Then, instead of responding, you made a dumb comment, yet again. Then, you made up him replying to me. That is called dumbassery bro.

Yeah, he didn't slug .496, have a .353 wOBA, or OPS .818 or anything like that.

Thats completely not worth whats being payed to him though..

I'd rather do what's possible to move him.. almost at all costs and allocate more money elsewhere..

You could move Soriano and Fukudome both at a loss if possible just to shed salary.

Ramirez would probably go down some in salary with a new contract.

Addition of Pujols or Fielder.

Then we have big holes at 2nd and LF. Minor hole at the end of the rotation (maybe, considering its not terrible right now).

Maybe Jackson comes up and does well.. That takes care of LF.. No matter what combination of Colvin, Byrd, Jackson.. Doesn't matter who plays where.

I don't know if DJ is far enough along to be up with the big club next year.. but there's gotta be somebody that's better than DeWitt available.

===

With those potential moves for the upcoming offseason.. The Cubs would easily be the class of the NL Central. At least on par with the Reds (depending on how the do this year)..

I know the Phillies have the oober pitching staff right now.. but we could out-hit some teams with that lineup.

No, Dews posted stats before you. I didn't say after you.

And, if you want to ***** about my posts, PM a mod, instead of making pointless, non-contributing posts yourself. It isn't that hard.

Must you post after everyone posts? We have a thanks button for a reason.

Just saying that I agree. Fine, I'll do that next time.

Let's get back on subject now before this keeps going on about nothing and Dews has to close it, k?

I never said he is worth what he is being paid, just to clarify. I agree, he is overpaid. However, he is still productive.

I agree, we should move him, but it makes absolutely ZERO sense to me to pay someone 10 MM to not play for us.

Fukudome is gone after this year, anyway.

So, you want to pay someone to take Soriano? You want to pay someone to create a hole in this team? That's ridiculous. Sure, BJax might be good, but he's no sure thing, the jury is still out on Colvin, and Byrd is getting old. While Soriano isn't worth the money, he is about the most reliable of our OFers going forward. We know what we will get with him.

DeWitt isn't really a problem, the problem was the way 2B was managed last year. If done properly, with a DeWitt/Baker platoon at 2B, 2B can at least be average and not hemorrhage this team.

That team would not be very good, IMO. That is a very unreliable OF, which was one of the few bright spots of last years team.

I'd pay someone not to play for us... that's what happens when he goes on the DL anyway.

Thanks for the reminder that Kosuke will be gone!

Soriano is getting old too, so I don't see how Byrd getting olds means anything here.

DeWitt is nothing special. Average at 2B isn't a common trait for competitors.

It may not be very good, but we aren't very good as it is.

I'm not post whoring right now, to be honest. I'm not even getting 50 day lately. I make one post of little value today, and you freak out and make more posts of no value.

Again, if you have a problem with my posts, talk to the mods (i.e. Dews), and he'll handle it if there is a problem.
