Agree with all of this except the statement about McCartney.
He was shit without Harrison and more importantly, Lennon tempering his ultra cheese. Really the whole band was a synergy and greater than the sum of its parts.
Harrison???? Not buying it. Harrison is a great guitarist, not so much for his proficiency rather for some of his innovative riffs and efficient solos. But technically, McCartney was a better lead guitarist. Harrison was very subservient to McCartney and resented him for many year afterwards for the influence and control Paul had over him. In fact, Harrison temporarily quit the band in 1969 because McCartney was telling him how to play the gutair. There is a famous quote and you can find the actual video on Youtube where Harrison says to McCartney "I'll play it this way, I'll play it that way, just tell me how you want me to play it". That afternoon George went home and wrote Wah Wah about Paul, then rejoined the band 2 days later. Only near his death did Harrison ever fully forgive Paul and start talking to him again
By the way here are some of the lyrics from Wah Wah where George talks about Paul and says he would be nothing without Paul
You made me such a big star
Being there at the right time
Cheaper than a dime
Oh, you don't see me crying
Oh, you don't hear me sighing
Here are some of the greatest musicians in the world doing Wah Wah at the Concert for George benefit. Notice the 3 drummers all in sync (Ringo, Jim Keltner and Henry Spinetti and crazy Ray Cooper on the congas))
