They weren't the number two scoring offense. The D and Specials scored some of those TDs. I think they were top 5 anyway, so no complaints, but let's stay accurate.

Way to go, Devin. In your prime, you were the best, unstoppable, a player people kicked AWAY FROM, and a true return artist. It's a shame it didn't happen with the Bears, but I was thrilled to see you break the record. Keep ballin, player.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
Didn't stay on that abortion of a football game long enough to see the post game, but what ever Devin said...meh. He is a poorly spoken emotional guy, just like after the Lovie firing. As a Bear fan I wouldn't take it to heart. If he ends up with more than 35-45 rec, I would revisit his potential value as a WR, but I think it is more him speaking in the moment.

It wasn't THAT bad. But he took his shots.

He should have taken the high road, and said nothing at all about Chicago. He basically said Cutler is a dick. Not that we didn't all know that. But it's like... it's your time to celebrate the NFL record that you just broke, and a big win against a divisional opponent. It's not time to talk about how butthurt you are about an organization that spent a lot of time and money on you.

The timing is the worst part. If he wanted to have this aired during one of the four pregame shows on Sunday morning, no problem. But in that moment? Don't get it.

He's just making up for his insecurity for being a useless WR in Chicago

People have bashed Devin Hester for how he speaks. I think he's just quiet.

Because the Bears being ranked 4th in scoring offense as opposed to being ranked 2nd in total points completely validates the argument that Hester should've been on the offense more. Right.

That is a straw man argument. I didn't make the argument you are attacking.

I agreed that he was not really needed on offense for the most part last seaon.

I think he should have been used because more weapons are better than less weapons in my football world.

I believe in being accurate. It's not a huge difference between 4 and 2 but slippery slopes and all that. With the info so easily accessible, no reason to misstate facts.

Prior to Marshall and later Jeffery arriving they did try to use him. He was a starter at WR for five years. How much more did they need to use him?

I would have preferred more than none and less than starter. Devin appears to be Atlanta's 4th WR which seems about right. Essentially, I would prefer him to Eric Weems.

Last thing I'm going to say on this. This comes from Chicago Tribune reporter Rich Campbell on Twitter, recently.

In fairness, Trestman has said he asked Hester to be part of the offense last year and he declined.

Meatball alert!

The Bears paid a return specialist as a #1 WR. That qualifies as the Bears giving him a ton. He had 4 Return TDs in the last 3 seasons with the Bears. He also had 10 fumbles.

Lets live in reality.

Meatball fan!? Hester single-handedly changed the game. His production in terms of yards and scores were unbelievable and he is the BEST EVER at his position as a returner... Not to mention all the "assists" for the many times teams sacrificed field position to kick away from him.

He is also responsible for what many Bears fans consider the most exciting play in Bears SB history.

Let's live in reality. Hester is one of the most exciting Bears ever.

It is a clear indictment of Trestman's leadership skills, if he let Hester tell him no. Either that or the truth is a little more grey.

So Devin continues to be a threat in Atlanta. 3 TDS total and almost two hundred yards receiving as a 3/4 WR. Not bad for Devin. Upon reflection, the Bears should have done him the favor of getting him away from Cutler when he was younger.

My troubles aren't really MB related.

Devin is one of my favorite players and I sincerely think he would have been better off with a different QB/offense.
