Except he hasnt been a ghost. He has 10 pressures and 4 QB hits the past 4 games in 99 pass rush snaps. Carter has 12 pressures, 1 sack and 2 QB hits in 139 pass rush snaps. So his production on a per snap basis is still comparable/better than Jalen Carter. So has Jalen Carter disappeared too or are you just biased.

Stevenson was always going to lose snaps to Smith once Smith was healthy as the same thing happened last year as both are good enough to start.

The Lions had 6 1st round picks the first 3 years while Poles had 3. Their rebuild was faster because they had considerably more draft capital.

Pace was here for 7 years and the 2 playoff appearences were in Year 4 and 6. Poles is in year 3 so by your own standard he still has until next year to catch Pace? Did you forget the John Fox years?

So virtually everything you said was either opinion or misleading.

Jameson Williams Jack Campbell and Jahmyr Gibbs are that draft capital....

2021 was Penei, 2022 was Hutchinson and Jameson and 2023 was Gibbs and Campbell. So 5 not 6.

By contrast, Poles had 0 1st round picks in 2022, Wright in 2023 and Caleb and Rome in 2024.

Now Holmes also did well with later round picks but it clearly helps to have that many firsts.

Again I'll ask of the three I mentioned who has had the largest impact towards them making the playoffs?

The entire board was laughing at the Lions for taking Gibbs and Campbell and now you're saying those two players are a part of the reason they turned things around so quickly. You can't have it both ways. You can't simultaneously defend Ryan Poles by saying he didn't have enough draft capital when he traded two picks away for a half assed pass rusher that has one double digit sack season and another pick for a WR that is no longer in the league.

Why are you defending Poles?

He’s a second round pick with half a sack more than the generational DT the Bears passed on in the same draft. 71 PFF grade vs 79.

I would say he’s doing just fine. 🤷‍♂️
wait a minute, @msadows insists the Lions screwed up by not selecting Carter, so what is he? generational or a bust

But it wasnt 3. It was 5. The fact the Lions may not have maximized their draft capital doesnt change the fact they had way more of it.

I am not defending Poles. I am responding to your dumb logic. You cant compare rebuilds without comparing the resources each had. And it is absolutely stupid to bring up Pace's play off appearences in Year 4 and 6 as a means to discredit Poles not making the playoffs yet in year 3.

Those seem like two good young players. Comparable, even. I would be hard pressed to say which I would prefer.

I personally am more excited for Gordon. NB is such a hard position compared to the rest of the DB group. You want to move on from regular so-and-sos quickly at NB because finding a good one is a gem. Given that top outside WRs run routes from the slot routinely, I am just too excited when Gordon puts together a good game. Amon Ra St Brown does a lot of damage running routes against slot receivers, and I am looking forward to Gordon making his money on Thursday.

IDK, i prefer the guy who was a late 2nd rounder over the top 10 pick with the same production.

One of them is also has great character and work ethic while the other has questions regarding both - still.

Carter may one day end up being far and away the better player but both of them are fringe pro bowl level players this year. Double chin dan is just making threads and doubling down on his stupidity. At this point i think he just enjoys being talked shit to

Poles should try to sign gordon this off-season while he can still get him for relatively cheap.

Neither...............Very good first round pick.

And he plays a position the lions were already weak at.

Instead they drafted a backup RB and a 2 down linebacker. Two positions you can regularly find in FA that are cheap.

Imagine Carter next to hutchinson, they woulda dominated. Good for the NFCN I guess

Here's 4 minutes of Dexter doing nothing against the Packers.

I commend Clay Harbor though he pumped Justin Fields unnecessarily last year too.

Funny, because I see a guy filling his gaps and pushing back the pocket while also being double teamed a decent amount.

But i know your fat ass is blind AND stupid.
