There is nothing inherently bad about red meat; I eat over a lb a week myself and it's wonderful for recovery in my experience. I can only speak to my own body, but sometimes- when I am lifting- I just NEED some red meat. And by some, I mean at least 8 ozs. and sometimes a whole pound. Usually use ground sirloin and pair it with a ton of broccoli and some soy based sauce.
