Unfortunately after all of last night's results it is either the 'Hawks or Dallas that will get in. 'Hawks, just get a point, or two, and then prepare for the 'Nucks. And yes I am aware that the 'Hawks could still slide into the 7th spot with a win and LA or Anahiem loss or LA get's one point, but I think they will end in the 8th seed.
One thing that could be a huge factor in the game tomorrow is the ice. There is a concert at the UC tonight (I'll be there), and with the early start tomorrow the ice will be soft. Let's hope that works in the 'Hawks favor.
I've run out of porn (and am waiting for more to be made), so I've decided to spend a few minutes on possible playoff scenarios.
First, the Hawks will finish 8th if they get 0 points tomorrow, god forbid, and the Stars lose or win in the SO.
The Hawks will finish 7th or 8th If they get 1 point. (7th, if the Kings beat the Ducks in reg, OT or a SO
or if the Ducks beat Kings in reg (based on reg/OT wins Hawks 38 to Kings 36)).
The Hawks will finish at least 7th with a win tomorrow, but depending on how other teams do tonight can end up anywhere from 5th to 7th.
The Hawks will finish 7th, if they win tomorrow,(the loser of the Ducks/Kings, regardless of a reg, OT or SO loss, will finish 8th).
The Hawks will finish 6th, if they win and the Preds win or lose in OT/SO but the Yotes lose in reg.
Like wise, the Hawks will finish 6th if they win and the Yotes win or lose in OT/SO but the Preds lose in reg.
The Hawks will finish 5th, If they win in reg or OT and both the Yotes and Preds lose in regulation (the Hawks pass em because all 3 teams will have 99 points, but the Hawks will have 39 reg & OT wins, the Yotes & Preds 38).
Even if the Hawks win in a SO, if the Yotes & Preds lose in reg, because the Hawks split the season series with the Preds 3-3 AND two of the Preds wins came in the SO the Hawks have 8 points, Preds 6, so the Hawks would pass em based on head-to-head points. Hawks also split the season series with the Yotes 2-2 and each team had a SO win but in the next tie breaker, goal differential, Hawks are +34, Yotes +7, so the Hawks pass them.
Under the above scenario (Hawks win, Preds & Yotes lose in reg), if LA beats the Ducks, they'll have 100 points and the Hawks would end up 5th with 99 and play the Kings in the 1st round.
On the other hand, using the same scenario (Hawks win, Preds & Yotes lose in reg), if the Ducks win in reg, OT or a SO, they'd end up 4th - because they'd have more reg/OT wins than the Hawks - and we'd play them in the first round (LA would only have 36 reg/OT wins to our 38 or 39).
It's possible that 5 teams (the 4th to 8th seeds) could end up with 99 points tomorrow under the following scenario. The Hawks win, the Ducks beat LA in OT or a SO and both the Preds & Yotes lose in Reg.
The seeds would be:
4th Ducks
5th Hawks
6th Preds
7th Yotes
8th Kings
