Yup, I am aware they could be anywhere from 5th to 9th after tomorrow....somehow I just "feel" it is going to be 8th. It is somewhat of a dream matchup for the NHL. Now, I would prefer something like 5th or 6th.

Just crazy how most of the West seeds are still up in the air.

Besides the Hawks/Nucks dream match-up I think the league would also love a Hawks/Sharks matchup (The Niemi factor, Defending Cup champs vs. their former Cup goalie) or a Hawks/Wings original six match-up.

Hawks/Kings or Hawks/Ducks, not as sexy.

How come the hawks haven't clinched a playoff spot yet? They have more wins than Dal even if Chi loses and Dal wins tomorrow.

its wins not including shoot-out wins.

new rule that started this season. confused everyone at first because the nhl does a shitty job at explaining its rules to fans and officials and players and itself.

If the Hawks lost in regulation and Dallas won in a shoot out, they would be given 3 points added to their 98 which would be 1 point higher then the Hawks.

What kind of boggles my mind is if Dallas is winning by 1 with a minute left, do you pull your goaltender and let the opposition score, hoping that with the game tied you could take it to a shootout and get the winner?

I've played in hockey tournaments where a tie-breaker was goals for, and teams would just go all out on offense and not give a shit about defense, so I could see if it meant a playoff berth, Dallas going for a shootout.

No they wouldn't!

If the Hawks lost the Stars would have to win in regulation or OT to get two points for the tie. Given 3pt points... LOL YOu are HIGH!!!.

Hawks need 1pt or Dallas to lose or win their game in OT. It's that easy.

I'm an idiot, for some odd reason I thought SO wins gave the winners 3 points. lol, now I understand the debate FOR 3 points.

Hawks lose, Stars win, Stars are in.

Stars win in the SO Hawks are in per ROW's.

Hawks win, they are in. That's what needs to happen IMO

Hawks lose and Stars lose, Hawks are in.

I guess outside of this season, I've never had to pay attention to the standings as the Hawks have either been in the playoffs or not.

Three years ago you had to pay attention. Hawks missed the playoffs with two games left in the season. Or were eliminated.

It's been a rough couple months and to be honest, I haven't followed the Hawks as closely this year as last. I'll do my 2 minutes and feel shame!

I remembered that as I clicked post, but I forgot you wouldn't just read past that and let me get away with it!

considering who the stars play i agree. although i think the wild are a tougher than the avs but i do think the stars will win that game if they know the hawks have lost to detroit.

lets not forget though a single point will get us in. i dont mind cheering for an ot game tomorrow against the wangs. wangs are going to play better than they did on friday. i am sure they dont want to face us first round...so they will put a better effort in as to try and get us eliminated. Hawks will show up tomorrow though too. its going to be a hell of a game.

wish it wasnt on so fucking early in the morning though.

Yah they did. And when the hell did Kesler get to 40 goals?

Theres the difference for the Canucks this year..that ****** is producing. Or has he got the majority of those playing on the PP with the Sedins? Either way big key for the Canucks this season has been Kesler....someone needs to run him.

Like last game this is one the "Core" has to step up. The guys that have been in similar pressure situation.

Toews

Kane

Hossa

Sharp

Campbell

Keth

Seabrook

Glad Kopecky is in he plays like crazy against the Wings.

Hawks are going to win so it won't matter what the **** Dallas does. They'll be out long before they take the ice.

There has been debate, if the hawks lose tomorrow, if dallas game is tied, if Dallas would pull their goalie in OT, to attempt to win it before it goes to an SO, since a SO win effectively eliminates them.

If the Hawks win their last game, they will most likely face the Ducks and I don't like their chances against them, same with the Sharks if they get a point. Somehow I feel the Hawks have a better chance against the Nucks from the 8th spot.
