the problem besides debt is the fact that the cards,pirates,reds are all light years ahead of the cubs so spending may be stupid to do. this team is no buried.

Ok so here comes a little rant:

So by my math Cubs have gotten 40 mil in Revenue this off season now. 26 mil from National TV Deals and now 14 mil from Beer Ad. Cubs payroll last year was around 100 mil. (Which is still to low) So Cubs have now Cut payroll 22 mil while getting 40 mil in revenue. Lets just add the 60 mil they get from Local TV Deal. So yearly just from Revenue alone they are getting 100 mil. 60 Local tv + 26 National Tv + 14 Beer ad. Then Cubs get 2.4 mil fans with having the highest Ticket Price in the NL but Ricketts is telling us Fans that payroll which Tribune had are unstainable? How can anyone defend this puke of ownership? He a businessman that cares about 1 thing and thats making $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ He done nothing else to prove im wrong. I hear how he built new DR academy. That cost him 7 mil. Beer add just paid that. I hear how Spring Training Complex. Arizona paid for all that. I hear how Cubs have spent most in amateur draft and amateur IFA. Thats also a bit of shit cause MLB has capped what teams can spend. The Worse Record teams get to spend ALOT more then the good teams. So yes they get to spend most cause they have been one of worse teams in MLB since Ricketts owned team. So again i will say

Not a Cubs fan so I don't really know what is going on these past couple of years. What is the consensus by some of you guys in the direction the team has taken since Theo came into town. This team will continue to be losers or you see us contending within 5 years?
