Negative. They're insufferably long-winded and boring as all ****. I think most people like them simply because it's been suggested to them enough -- either directly or indirectly -- that they've conditioned
themselves into believing as much. In this very real sense, the films quite literally "insist upon [themselves]," as Seth MacFarlane once opined. Now, I don't necessarily care for Mr. MacFarlane's particular brand of humor (Family Guy, anyway), but I've found the man himself to be quite insightful, and in this instance -- spot on. I feel this point is evidenced by Mr. Coppola's own admission of having released the third film merely for its financial windfall.
Just my opinion, obviously. Your mileage may vary. That being said, the above soliloquy did, in fact, just happen and you will each need to find a way of coming to terms with it, whatever those means may be.
