Canucks fan here. Yes, I know I am in enemy territory.

So you're all upset about Torres. You're upset about having your leading scorer taken out by a reckless and illegal hit. A hit that targeted the head. A hit delivered with such brutality that it makes you angry on behalf of your injured star player. A hit that seemed to be delivered with intent to injure. A hit that will probably be insufficiently punished by the league. A hit that probably jeopardizes your chances at success in the playoffs.

Wow, I can't imagine what that's like.

Yes... and it was called the shoulder check to the head --- oddly enough one that drew no penalty...

and on to the ignore list ... thx for getting that out of the way early on.

When is this suspension hearing you speak of?

Friday is the hearing. I don't think there is any gamemanship going on with the Hawks trying to get Torres a longer suspension, but I wouldn't mind it in this case with the way the Coyotes handled Mike Smith following the Shaw hit.

There is no way the hawks are holding hossa out a game in order to lengthen penalty...too risky

sure sounds like hossa is done for the year.

no shenanigans to be played and I don't think you'd need them anyways... the nhl wants to publicly pound someone and torres is the perfect target in their eyes.

feels like he's gonna get raped.

Agree....

My guess is 8-10 games which are eligible to carry over to regular season next year

JJ over at HB had this to say...

Here's what I know:

"Severe" whiplash (soft tissue injury), out 5-6 weeks. Also a concussion.

Was so swollen and in so much pain the other night, a complete diagnosis could not be made but they felt fairly confident he will be OK for summer training and next year.

He is being re-evaluated today so the results can be sent for Torres' hearing.

Torres, BTW, is f---ed.

I consider a JJ a good source on the injury front. He was the first one to report that Kane was going to have hand/wrist surgery and JJ got ripped apart by several media people claiming that the report wasn't true.

The more and more I think about it, I think Torres gets the Matt Cooke treatment here when it comes to a suspension.

Oh wait....... YES I CAN

We may be on the golf courses soon, but without Hossa, we'll see you there shortly after.

Will you be teeing up before, or after the rioting/looting etc?.

if thats true. ****. poor guy is probably in alot of pain. weird though how he left on his own and drs were optimistic. one of the best 2 way forwards gone can pretty much take whatever little chance we have to zero chance. we needed all the help we could get to just have any slight chance. stan bowman should take some notes. when you are at the deadline and you need a 2nd line center you get that player. we had a hole there to begin with and now it would have been nice to add depth for the possibility of injury. bowman cant get a free pass.
