Just wanted to vent this hear since I couldn't do it on twitter and facebook, but it really sucks when your good friends you've known for 10+ years turn into total assholes. 2 of my best friends in the last 5 years have fucked over their wives and turned into complete pricks in the process. I've lost 2 of my closest friends because they somehow turned into complete assholes. The 2nd was more shocking than the first as I never would have suspected it.
I have a friend I've always known was a prick. Maybe hes changed, I dont really see him a hell of alot (He was my first roommate in college). He had some women issues, would treat his GF like shit (who he is now married to with 3 kids), The times I've seen him lately he hasnt acted like a giant ****** to his wife and seems like a genuinely good father, so maybe he turned a new leaf, I was waiting for the day, he calls me to tell me hes getting a divorce because shes had enough, or because hes having a midlife crisis because shes the only woman he put his meat into (they had been dating since they were 14). If he cheated on her at any point throughout college, I would have known about it, he isnt exactly brad pitt (His wife is smoking hot though, she could get any dude she wants).
But there were some things hes done in the past where I seriously considered voicing my opinion of his behavior to him. He used to berate his now wife, then girlfriend in front of people, one time he flat out called her a *****, for nothing really, she looked like she was about to cry.
The only reason I didn't is if it ended our friendship, I basically would have had to find a completely new circle of friends at school, because none of them were saying anything either, and I didnt feel like dealing with the conflict. That and outside of that hes a fun guy to hang out with. He hooked me up with summer jobs with him every summer working construction. As I said, I maybe see him every few months now adays, and that behavior seems to be gone, so maybe my friend did a reverse of yours.
