I just bought my own house back in July 2013 and already I feel like I am accumulating too much junk.... for my birthday my sisters went and got me house stuff, some of which I did need, but they got me lots of duplicates of shit I already have..... I feel this will become a problem lol

I’ve lost something in my house, bought a new one and the found the old one afterward more times than I can count.

Really the only options are return it to the store, sell it, donate it or just throw it out. I’ve done all four.

I luckily havent' had this problem but that's because I already had a lot of shit when I lived with my parents (and theres still plenty there). I have duplicates of some things..and I have a bunch of junk I haven't quite been able to put away yet (My "office" is a mess...my office is a loft..and I need to finish building a desk, I need winter to be over for that to happen).

The house I bought has 2 bedrooms and a really nice loft space..... I turned the 2nd bedroom into my office, and mine is a mess as well.

The loft I am turning in to a Theater room.... its gonna be sweet.

Kinda sounds like my place..Also 2 bedrooms..I have a roommate though...I didn't really want one, but decided I'd like the extra cash for now. Once I get rid of the roommate I plan on making the other bedroom my office/guest bed... The loft, I really don't know what I'll do with then.

Our places are probably built from the same or similar plan.... does the Loft in your house have a vaulted ceiling and a big empty wall? Also do you have a Laundry room upstairs?

I have a vaulted ceiling that goes up from the living room to the loft. The loft overlooks the stairs and living room. Its pretty open....The laundry room is downstairs...I'm an end unit so my layout is different from the interior units..they have their utility rooms upstairs.

I read through this and I know this was started over two years ago, but if you are still trying to de clutter there is a book that I really enjoyed and helped me get rid of a bunch of stuff.

I visit this site because there are still good posters here, but there is no denying the massive talent drain over the last year or two. The irony is that it is a self inflicted wound, it's like watching a once competitive NFL team sink into into the abyss. I'm not mentioning any team specifically, but you get the idea.
