Nagy didn’t have nearly the experience of Ben Johnson, and we all know Reid runs the show there. Chiefs also have goat QB in mahomes.

The lions have completely changed goffs career, fckn Mcvay quit on this guy.
And many were saying Waldron changed Geno Smith’s career.

We don’t know, Johnson is an unknown. It’s not a knock at all against Johnson, he may end up great. I look at our history and what happens with first time coaches here, you don’t know what would happen. Johnson has a phenomenal offensive line , great weapons, and a pretty good QB. And as I said, Johnson is very likely to have multiple options. Would he pick Chicago, inside the same division, where the organization has a shit reputation and coaches regularly fail here? You can say he would want to coach Caleb, but who knows what he thinks of Caleb and what the other options will be.

We literally just shit on waldron for calling a stupid cute OL trick play.

Ben Johnson does it and he's a genius.

Almost like personnel matters. If BJ was coaching this current team they would be better but he cant fix a terrible OL and a rookie QB struggling at times.
Yes when you have a REALLY good OL like Sewell I think it is okay to run some trickery. It is very different when you are doing that cutesy play with a back up center. You do see the very obvious difference with this, right? Do you think Ben Johnson is a literal Special person that would do the exact same plays in chicago that he runs in detroit?

Can you acknowledge that the Lions currently average the most PPG in the NFL? Why are you comparing 1 singular play to Waldron yet ignoring literally all of the other overwhelming evidence that they are completely different.

The NFC north has lafleur coaching guys like Malik Willis to multiple wins, oconnell making darnold look like a fringe MVP prospect, Campbell is inevitably losing Ben Johnson a 38 year old coaching one of the best offenses in the NFL, and you meatballs are hoping for vrabel?

Let me guess, you guys also wanted Jamal Adams to be selected 4th overall.

It would be moronic to go the vrabel route if you are looking for long term success.
You know skinny Fred Drust aka Lefluer was Vrabels OC? Why can’t he find a good Oc?

Who the hell was BJ before Campbell hired him?

The difference here is that Ben Johnson is now putting up an even better performance this year. Back to back success with no signs that it would slow down.

Look at Slowik, his offense is declining. If Waldron had stayed in Seattle for 1 more year i'd be curious how it would be going.

And others were saying the real change happened for Geno with Canales who then also got a lot out of Mayfield. Too soon to say the effect Canales is having on Bryce Young as the Panther's owners is one of the few that is probably even worse then McCaskey.

I am only ok with a Vrabel if he is paired with an experienced, good OC that is content to just be an OC. Something like Tom Moore with the Colts and Peyton Manning.

Short of finding the next Tom Moore, the Bears need to find themselves the next Matt LaFleur or KOC.

If Ben Johnson is that guy, great! Go get him.

But please, for the love of god, have an interview process that figures it out, some how, some way. And be willing to wait if the guy is in the playoffs. Don't settle for an inferior HC.

I still think when it comes to Johnson he will have choices, probably his pick of all the head coaching jobs. The Bears are not going to outbid all the other teams, the McCaskey’s and the organization has a shit reputation, we are in the same division as Detroit, I really think if I was Johnson the Bears would be on the bottom of my preferred list.

If Stefanski is fired by the Browns, would he be a solid consideration? The Browns are another organization that is just...bad and Stefanski has been handcuffed by Watson and that contract.

I am just trying to think of HC candidates that have experience as a HC already right now. There are not actually that many available with any sort of background in offense this coaching cycle.

One thing about Ben Johnson is he does prefer to stay in the general area so yes I do think as long as the money is right he would take the Bears over other jobs.

This job is easily the top job available. You have a star QB, talent everywhere, and a ton of picks and cap space. The odds are the next HC is going to have success.

Or you can go to the Giants with Devito or the Saints with Carr? lol jaguars? Raiders?

Bears is the top job this year by a wide margin. Now if the Bengals opens up that probably becomes #1 but we shall see.

Does that NFL still allow teams to trade for a HC? Could the Bears trade for a Kyle Shanahan? Pipe dream, but it's the holiday season after all.

Yes, they do.

The question is do you want to give up two first round picks, likely one of them being in the top 10 this year for a shanny or mcvay?

I doubt either franchise let those guys go. Payton was just traded for 2 firsts to denver, seems to be working for them.

Yeah, that's probably too steep of a price. I don't see McVay wanting to leave SoCal anyway. For that matter, I doubt Shanahan is looking to leave the 49ers.
