For all the people who want vabrel how do you feel about bellichick? I really wouldn't care for either but bet they both interview
George is scared of Vrabel - I can see him totally dominate George with mental Reggie
how did that effect Josh Allen? I don’t think it matters as long as the OC is competent.
I’m not saying this is who I want. I’m not really sure who I want other than an offensive guy. I saw a list of potential candidates last week and the guy that for whatever reason stuck out was a Josh McCown.
Yep he was retained when Campbell was hiredFact is though Cambell did not bring in Johnson to be the OC.
I said could, not will. I would be fine with Johnson, I just don’t think he will come here. He will have options, the Bears won’t give the best offer, and do we really want them to guarantee him a 6 year deal with the history of the Bears and coaches?just because Nagy was an OC turned HC failure doesn't mean that a OC will never succeed
I dont think we should give a shit about the terms of the deal they give to a head coach.I said could, not will. I would be fine with Johnson, I just don’t think he will come here. The reason I care is if it doesn’t work out then because of the length of the contract they would likely keep the guy longer because of it. This is the McCaskey’, it’s happened beforeI dont think we should give a shit about the terms of the deal they give to a head coach.
Johnson is in a perfect situation for himself right now.
Campbell & the elite OL make him look perfect. Campbell sets the tone for the team and encourages them to play with a physicality and edge. The OL affords him the flexibility to attack the defense in any which way he wants.
People are saying he's not a culture setter - just an elite playcaller (in part because he's in an elite situation). Adding in 2-3 top flight OL talents would help him replicate the OL in Detroit but he doesn't strike me as a absolute slam dunk hire.
If Brown can win some games down the stretch here and has the team playing a tough, smart brand of football I think he's going to be the dude.
Fair enough, I think Johnson would like the bengals job if it opened up, agree with the emboldened aboveI said could, not will. I would be fine with Johnson, I just don’t think he will come here. He will have options, the Bears won’t give the best offer, and do we really want them to guarantee him a 6 year deal with the history of the Bears and coaches?
The thing that was so strange with Nagy was that Reid was quoted at one point as saying he thought Nagy was possibly the best HC candidate of all his former coaches.
The double doink really broke Nagy. And it was a double whammy because they likely don't lose Fangio if they win that game as Denver was probably not going to wait to hire Fangio if he was not available. So many things that could have been different.
In what way? Did he stick out like, why is Josh McCown in this list?
You seem confused remy. You seem confused. I dont care to make predictions. If it is Johnson then I will give him 2-3 years to prove himself. I do have the following concerns about him though.
1. He seems to be more of a beta. For as good as the offense has been it is telling his players didnt rank him higher especially when thry had Glenn as the No 1 DC and Shipp ad the No 4 ST coach. So it seems he may be a good Xs and Os guy but not someone that inspires players.
2. He is rumored to want 5-6 years and something like 8-10 million. That is a lot for someone with no prior experience especially if Bears are eating 2 years of Flus.
“I think Ben is going to be very selective in where he wants to go. Every spot does not appeal to him, let’s just be honest about that. I’ve heard some things about not wanting to go to a larger market, he’s a little bit more of an introvert. I think he’s really going to be very selective in the spots he looks at. I don’t think he’s interested in all the openings. There’s definitely a chance he stays. He loves what he’s doing, he loves where he’s at…I don’t think it would be completely insane if he stays in Detroit.”
James Palmer on Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson
Not confused at all. I quoted what the media said. They were wrong about him not wanting to go to a big market. I also said quite clearly, "I dont care to make predictions. If it is Johnson then I will give him 2-3 years to prove himself."You seem confused remy.
When oh when will you learn to stop trusting every single random Bs article you read??
Thoughts on points 1 and 2?Not confused at all. I quoted what the media said. They were wrong about him not wanting to go to a big market. I also said quite clearly, "I dont care to make predictions. If it is Johnson then I will give him 2-3 years to prove himself."
So not sure what to tell you. I am happy the Bears got their guy and fully support him regardless of any concerns expressed.
