I'd totally post in the Fire forum if I actually followed MLS.

The Fire Forum will grow with time... MLS popularity is expanding (but Fire's went down last season) and the new deal with NBC and NBC Sports Network, the former Versus, (and all the advertising NBC is giving MLS, even during Sunday Night Football), will only help the league's popularity. As the league's popularity expands, a higher percentage of new members will like soccer. It's going to take some time though...

Also, the Red Cox signed Silva.

Aren't you the moderator? Just delete his posts or ban him or something.

I honestly usually notice it when it's too late anyway, lol. I don't even have a ban-hammer.

I think we have the issue addressed now though...

PSD sucks, plain and simple. You can't even post a fucking image directly last I was on there anyway.

I see, CO likes PSD better because nobody there hurts his feelings. Grow some balls.

So whether or not you can post images dictates how good a forum is? lol yeah right.

Right. Because when I get my feewings hurted I weave. Ya know, that's why I'm still here....`
Remember that CCS-PSD feud that sparked a 100-page thread in a few hours and the dumbass starts comparing traffic between a Chicago-only site and an everything-site as if to say one was better? :lmao:

Almost as silly as comparing forums based on whether or not you can post images.

again, if PSD is so much better please go back there.

also...define better....more users there? sure. does that make it better? no...especially when a lot of them are like you.

So either shut your mouth about CCS being whatever you think it is, or go back to PSD since you love it so much. Thanks! Enjoy your day.

Or option C) Do both. Thanks! Enjoy your day.

PSD is better because they actually have insightful baseball talk. They talk about topics in depth, there are actual arguments on there.

There's a difference between having an argument and having a structured debate. When we as posters submit our points, we expect those points to either be accepted due to the way we supported the points with facts, or they can be rejected and refuted because the next poster has an alternate viewpoint that is also backed up by other facts.

I don't think you can say that we don't have insightful baseball talk here just because the viewpoints on this forum don't gel with what you think.

Images needing to be linked to instead of just shown is Special person as ****... makes you have to extra clicks and lowers IGT quality.

And if you like PSD.com so much, maybe you should stay there... if ChiCitySports.com just isn't your kind of site anyway.

Why haven't the Cubs won a World Series yet then :D

Because you didn't get this for Christmas:

What do you want to talk about?

Better arguments on PSD, but has 8 posts per day here

Not a fan of PSD arguing?

I'm surprised, considering how badly you want to see everybody's pics.

I'm not saying that. I'm not saying that at all. I don't give a **** if someone disagrees with me. But as dewey & jowcawks evidence time and time again, they don't have to back up their opinions with anything. At PSD that shit doesn't fly. But here it does. Additionally, it's like a fucking sin if you mention anything about WAR, UZR, any advanced metric here. People here reject that, but they don't refute it.

I think the problem isn't that you are wrong but that you are uncompromising. The reason some posters have problems with advanced statistics is not only because they're new and different, but because of their novelty they require tweaks and certain assumptions that folks aren't so accepting of. While the metrics are better than the standard statistics in evaluating player production and future performance, they are not without their flaws. That is the main objection that I see from DewsSox and other anti-WAR folks and I don't think they're necessarily wrong.

It's fine to use the stats but it's also important to understand the importance of context and sample sizes. Here's a couple articles from Alex Remington he wrote for BLS documenting the stats you listed above. Pay close attention to the part where he describes how they don't work well.

Everything you always wanted to know about: UZR - Big League Stew - MLB

Everything you always wanted to know about: WAR - Big League Stew - MLB

There are assumptions inherent in each metric and I'm hardly an expert but I don't think it's appropriate to just accept the newfangled numbers as gospel without realizing their flaws.
