Why would you want to go and spend money on the bullpen, though? That is stupid. Yeah, let's go give a guy who is going to pitch 60 innings 2 million. Relievers are so hit and miss, it is stupid to pay them when we have a shitload of pitching talent in the minors that we can fill in house.

So true, spending top dollar on relievers is probably the worst thing a team can do, and it can destroy a teams budget. There are a handful of top notch relievers out there that one should spend on, rivera, nathan (but now ouchy), thorton, maybe marmol.....but other than that it is VERY hit or miss....hence scott linebrink.

So i have decided instead of signing a stop gap guy they should just put Colvin at 1B and play Fukudome in RF. Then when Fukudome and Silva contract done after 2011 season go HARD after FIELDER and move Colvin back to RF.....If they going to go young rather them just do it then sign guys like Pena,LaRoche, or Overbay

Tech Week for the show. Sunday - Thursday I got 22 hours of sleep total. It's hell week. But now that the show is up, I should have more time to be on here and watch my social life plummet.

The Cubs offered Berkman a 1 year deal worth 8M in deterred payments.

The Cubs have turned their attention to Lyle Overbay and Carlos Pena.

The Cubs would love to have Wood back, and are expected to talk during the WM.
