This happened again to the Blues! They signed Wellwood and he was claimed by the SJ Sharks. Sharks assume the contract StL. had initiated/signed with Wellwood.
Hmm...a team higher in the standings probably shouldn't be allowed to win a claim on a player going through re-entry.

Also if he gets claimed, and the team tries to trade him, he would have to clear waivers again. The way it sounds, he may get passed around

Right. So the interested team would have to actually be interested in him either as a starter or backup. He couldn't be sent down to the AHL, either. Maybe Holland has something going with NJ.
