the Blackhawks PP is like an ex gf. you have faith that they are going to turn it around, and stop disapointing you

but deep down, you know they won't.

Well looks like they were working on the PP today at practice. Time to turn the power play around!

How, practicing the same old shit that has failed repeatedly? Or trying something new?

I don't care who is coaching it. At some point the players themselves have to take some of the heat. I know the coaching chooses the positioning and the units (and they aren't right) but with the talent on those units to come up with this little? I don't know... just doesn't feel right to knock only the coaching. There have been too many powerplays where the legs haven't been moving where board battles have been lost where the dump in hasn't been properly used and where the passing has been brutal. Not sure how you pin that on the coaches fully.

lol nice pic cho.

I'm getting tired of Q throwing out 5 forwards on a 5 on 3. It's Special person.

You should be careful on how you throw that word Special person out there, you should be more sensitive to people who have family members that are Special person. It hurts me because all of my in-laws are Special person....it hits home!

BTW good point, keep the PP natural, don't get anxious and change the system because it is a 5 on 3.

I thought IHN was made so we didn't have to watch our mouths.

I always just do the old "/purple" but you never know, I've gotten PM's from admin asking me to not say some things.

and didn't Graham leave due to my (and others) use of the word Special person?

HAHA ok, the statement may be wrong, but that was funny.

Umm... on this site? Maybe if it was completely disruptive or if we get complaints, but I've never done it, I don't think. And there is only really one Admin and that Ton, and he doesn't do that either from what I know, unless there is a complaint. Which we haven't really gotten many of, ever.

it's happened once, I complied. It was around the time that the site first launched and we all migrated from the O'Boards.

I agree, it boils down to execution....not coaching. There are only so many plays you can run out of an umbrella or overload and between the 3 coaches they've seen it all and game planned against every posible defensive formation and there's not too many of those either. There's a laundry list of small things that aren't going right so far, too many passes, not enough movement, shooting wide, not finding or creating shooting lanes, losing puck battles, missing the net......there's many more, but I'm sure everyone gets the point. I forgot an important one....Finishing! So until they start geling as a unit, elimentate some of the small misques and then finish, they will continue struggling to score. Even with all the talent the Hawks can throw out, maybe because of chemistry the middle of the pack will be as good as it gets. I think it's too early to panic, but you never know.

Stupid Passing!!!

I have rarely seen the Hawks so poor with the puck. It is also hard to make a good pass when there is no-one in position to pass it to.

The personnel decisions on the PP is setting them up to fail.... It all starts with the guys put on the ice. It is obvious the players are not the least bit comfortable on the PP.

So many times, and not just on the powerplay, I've seen this team pass up excellent shot opportunities to give it up for that extra pass trying to see up the posterized goal. There is so much skill on this team that sometimes I think they feel like they have to do everything perfect with finesse instead of just driving hard to the net and putting the puck on goal. They all have to be beautiful spinorama pass goals... or one-timers. (which our D-men have show they can't do). I get so frustrated. I find myself inside my head yelling, SHOOOOT, then realize what's happening. and feel shame.
