To me it's about taking short term losses for hopefully long term gains. Maybe those long term gains never amount to anything but there's also no long term gains in players like Dempster, Soriano, Zambrano....etc.

Taking short term losses on a bunch of lottery tickets to achieve those long term gains can easily and quickly turn into long term losses.

Not resigning Aramis Ramirez was a short term loss that is now turning into a long term loss.

There may be no long term gains in players like Dempster, Soriano and Zambrano, but there also wasn't any short term losses either.

The minor league system should be used to support the major league team. Not the other way around despite what most here think is the right way to build.

Wrong.

The Truth is actually Paul Pierce.

Ain't nobody got time for Poop Pierce, breh. He won't be delivering the city of Chicago a string of World Series championships like our Lord and Savior Javier "Moon Shot McGee/Wing Wang Ding-A-Ling Dealer" Baez <3

Seeing as Pierce already has a championship and will go into the Hall of Fame, let's wait till Baez has a championship before even mentioning him in the same sentence as Pierce again.

It's a new season come March 31st.

Its been ingrained into Cub fans to expect the worst.

I am waiting for the day to expect the best. 2017?

the amazing thing in all of this is how much cubs fans still want to believe. believe in something that's never going to happen. theo had $200 million dollar payrolls to play with to play with in boston. what's the cubs current payroll?

it's cool, i get it. i was obsessed for over 30 years.

but let's face it. the season is officially over. 2 games under .500 is likely the closest this team will get to .500 all year. next season is officially over, 2016 is officially over. maybe 2017 for some hope?

Until the Cubs can defeat the rooftop owners, they stand no chance at defeating any of the Central division.
