I wonder if they give him a shot if Beckham is rubbish come May or June?

Beckham was hurt so I would think they'll give him another chance, albeit probably his last chance. Marcus Semien needs time in AAA Charlotte but I figure he'll end up in third when its all said and done. (Unless we can snag Brett Lawrie :cum: :fap: )

i really want a catcher,3b, and rh starter and we can be sleepers

:yep:

Even if the team is as bad (I don't think as is, they're as bad as 2013, btw) at least we can watch (the) Garcia(s), Abreau, Eaton, Sale, Quintana, all progress.

Being bad while rebuilding >>>>> being bad in general

if you think about it. insert weiters, headley and a decent righty you would have some good obp, younger, and balance while having good starting pitching.

I would fap if they could pull that off. But at that point you risk losing Q. :(

But point taken. I think 2014 is the transitional year, more or less before the trade deadline. *IF* they're not totally awful like in 2013, (even, say, 10 under .500?) I could see them loading up on players (Headley, Weiters, etc) at the deadline and getting ready to go for 2015.

Hey guys...
Was listening to Bruce Levine this morning and he said don't be surprised if the Sox can work out a trade with Houston for Dunn.
His theory is that Houston needs to something to put fannies in the seats, and Dunn is a Texas native that fans would want to see hit HR's.
I'm on the fence with it I guess, on one hand I say make the trade if it nets a good return. On the other, it removes a bases clearing threat.

If I had to choose, I would make the trade.

the only power threat and best offensive producer for the sox last year. pass. I DO NOT want to see konerko in everyday. the only way is if we deal for a LFdr with obp and some pop and move viciedo to DH. they cant afford to give up a prove LH hr threat whos atleast good for 35 and .330obp

These kind of moves with Downs, Bassario (sp?), Paulino , and now maybe Balfour, kind of tell me that they sorta want to try to go for it.

Granted, they're probably only a mid-70s win team right now. So, I don't know if that is such a good approach.

Don't know that I would throw too much $ his way. I fear he is on the decline.

they are probably at best a .500 team maybe. If they get a SP (rhd) and a catcher like weiters they would be good enough to make a run for a spot in sleeper mode.

Yeah. I wouldn't expect any major moves until after the new years.

Seeing some people on Twitter upset about catcher not being addressed still.

Yes, it's meh right now but I can't criticize Hahn, as he's had a solid offseason.

Besides, it's the holidays & we still have ways to go to see how this roster takes shape come spring training.

It's way to early to be upset about not getting a C yet. I think it's safe to say that Hahn knows there is a void at C.
I'll be concerned if it's not addressed by 3-1-14 and pissed if not addressed by 3-15-14.
