I don't agree. Did Robinson not have both hands still on the ball when he hit the ground?

I'm pretty good about being a couch ref and calling out my own team, which my buddies hate when we're watching games together cause all they do is scream "Where's the holding call ref" every time our offense has the ball but it seemed to me like that was a catch and don't see how they could go against the call that was made on the field on that one. ARob clearly had the ball with both hands when he went up for it, then the defender got to him and that's when we really couldn't see much but his shoulder hit the ground and then you see the defender getting the ball out. That to me at the very least was a tie goes to the offensive player but i think it was a catch/TD anyway.

Yes, he did.

His lower body hit the ground first, then he flipped over and his momentum caused a lot of torque on the ball, allowing the defender to end up with the ball.

You can argue that he did not complete a "football movement" before he lost the ball. That rule has been changed so I am not sure what the latest version is, but he certainly had both hands on the ball when he first hit the ground.

Foles is an upgrade to trubisky. Trubisky is done. He’s not a starter. There’s no chance he becomes a top 25 QB.

That being said - was his team is still bad. Foles came in and the offense failed to put points up on the board in the 3rd quarter.

It’s kind of like trubisky’s miraculous 4th quarter against the lions. I was happy to see it but that didn’t make this team good, and it didn’t make trubisky a good QB.

Foles will take this team to 8-8.

This defense is not the elite world beater they were 2 years ago. This offense will still struggle greatly.

Agreed...defense has as many question marks, if not more, than the offense. Quinn? Trevathan? Roquan for that matter. Nose tackle position? Why are the safeties leading the team in tackles?

I think Foles can easily be a top 25 QB. His body of work is impressive. Have no idea why it gets discounted so much. I think it's because of the injuries.

The sliver of hope I have is that the offense will put up just enough points to force opponents into obvious passing situations.

Let's not forget that foles did this against a banged up defense that is bad when healthy. I know that foles is undoubtedly better because he can read defenses pre and post snap and therefore be in position to at least make the right throw. I think if he can stay healthy we can at least see some consistency now, but again don't get too excited about a performance against an awful defense.

Next week should be a good test to see where we are. Colts offensive line is stout and they can run the ball down teams throats. We need to fix our run defense and be ready next week. The colts defense also has looked very good. The bears need to fix their mistake prone play as well. So many penalties, dropped balls, and just simple poor fundamentals at times. Thats been a constant with this team and it needs to change.

This is not a top tier football team but they are better now than they were a week ago and they may be starting to believe they can beat anyone. Yes they have won three close games against weak/injury plagued competition. But to me it says something that they never gave up though undoubtedly some of them knew the best QB was not on the field. They may be able to score enough now to hang when the schedule toughens up.

Exactly....and in the process of Foles taking over, the O may have actually become less predictable as a graphic seemed to indicate in the Graham /Foles thread

What robinson TD??! That was an interception. Calling it a TD in the first place was a shit call.

The fact that you insinuate that somehow that INT was Foles's fault shows how much of an idiot you really are. Foles put that ball exactly where he had to and Robinson let the defender take it away from him.

Personally, I don't think beating the Colts will prove we are anything more than flat out mediocre ourselves. Yes, the Colts have looked good defensively but two of those games came against the Jets and the Vikings, two teams that can't seem to stop stomping on their own dicks. Both Chicago and Indy have faced teams that are now 1-2, 0-3 and 0-3. And Indy lost to the only team that actually won a game.

I think the true 'telling' game will be the Buc's game the following week. If we beat Brady and a much improved Tampa Bay team then this might be a better team than we all gave it credit for. We won't be able to come back from two touchdowns back against them.

dude they put up almost 275 yards of offense and 20 points in a quarter and a half.
And saying that they didn't score any points in the 3rd is a bit misleading given the called TD to ARob on Foles' first drive that really should not have been changed to an INT.

Indy had a solid defense last year and it appears to have carried over to this year. The Colts have done what they were supposed to since that disappointing opener. I think they are the best team we've played yet. I think we will finally, now that foles should be playing, see some consistency from start to finish. I think it will give us a better idea of who this team is.

I literally did not blame foles lmao. You can find multiple posts here where I said foles is the QB. I wanted foles to start the season for fucks sake. So maybe check your reading comprehension before you come and call me an idiot. The thread is talking about the team. The team consists of offense and defense. The offense consists of multiple positions and players.

Idiot.

These almost TD’s are equally as pathetic as almost interceptions btw. If you watched last week foles should’ve thrown 3 ints btw. Almost.

we can not be that bad since we are 3-0 for the first time since 2007

3-0 is a fair point but I'll wait. I still see too many points left on the field and given to the other team to think this is greatness.

At least half of it could change with Foles but the way the WRs are dropping balls I'm not holding my breath.

Disagree with this. This is nothing but a glass half full post. Foles came in and moved the ball and had 2 touchdowns dropped. This from a guy that was seeing his first action in any game situation in close to a year. Foles didnt come in and fail to do anything.
The defense looked way better in the second half and played with energy we havent seen from them this season. We will learn a lot about this team next week against a solid Colts team. We may not be world beaters or superbowl favorites but we are a better team with Foles and this game clearly showed that and as long as hes healthy this team is better with him taking snaps.

I agree but I’m sitting back and enjoying it.

They probably only need a 46% winning percentage in the last 13 games to get the 7th seed.

Looking at the schedule, that’s definitely a realistic reality.

This ... with utter futility not suiting up and being under center week in and week out, I am much relieved to just enjoy the ride - 2001 style, **** it. Foles will **** up and this D may not figure out how to contain run gaps ever.

But we may yet watch some actual offense and may gain the rep of "Never being done" like 2001.

Good times ahead. I think Nagy will still commit to the run but will go to pass more often now

@Jamais Vu I think the odds of a 1k rusher just got longer but I think the offense will be more potent through the air (though probably still 15-16 ish)

Depends. I don't "count" either and rack them up for any QB but Foles played it perfectly in the 3rd quarter with the non-TDs. That was all on the WRs Arob and Miller. Both atoned for it in the 4th so it's all good.

Yeah Foles did it vs. a shit D who was missing starters and yeah this doesn't mean we run the table at 19-0 sure.

BUT Nagy is going to OPEN UP the playbook now. Enjoy the ride! I am thrilled competence is under center and Nagy can show us his O with no excuses that he has to simplify it for the youngling. Let's see this open-throttle O go.

Montgomery is my best shot and he is going to have to pull off a few 100+ games to make it happen. I think it's going to be close either way (900-1100), but Charles Leno is certainly trying his best to mess this up for me.

Oh I agree that they are probably the best team we will play to this point. But that doesn't mean that they are really a good team. The Colt's fans could probably say the same thing about us. We will be the best team they have played so far this year but that really doesn't make us a good team either, at least not yet.

This will be an interesting game but my jury will be out on Chicago until we see them play Tampa.
