The Bears were like 13-3 and Lovie did press conference where he had to reiterate 50 times that Grossman was his QB.
And then he threw and fumbled away a Super Bowl that Kyle Orton, Trent dilfer or Jeff hostetler woukt have allowed Hester and the defense to win.

No straw man. This all started with Kyle Orton v Rex grossman. Before that we had Jim miller and everyone was just fine.

Then Angelo got Orton for good value in the draft and he wasn’t flashy enough. Along came grossman who was flashy but couldn’t manage all the simple little things in the game. DCs took a few throws away and Rex flamed out.

16 years and 4 so called answers later I’m still watching a vast majority of this fan base look for the magic pill at QB. Instead of demanding that the bears hire people who know how to get VALUE at QB. Value just annihilated the bears from the last pick in the draft last Sunday
lol you just accused of him of what he wanted to happen 18years ago without any proof

It is a strawman because no one here has argued about Grossman. You are bringing up some alleged position everyone took for Grossman 15 years ago when you have no idea how the people you are debating with in the present felt about Grossman back then.

Stick to the arguments people have actually made in this thread. Otherwise yes it isna strawman.

Ah yes. 80% of Chicago thought he was the answer according to a score poll, but no one person ever liked him. The same percentage of people who loved cutler and love Williams loved grossman

He was what cutler was and Williams is. Big play flash in certain situations combined with an inability to be good enough across the board

I’ve literally had maybe 6 people fess up to thinking he was any good. Most of the time they pretend to now know who he was.

When Williams flames out here im imagining there will be a bunch of people who “never thought he was good” as well lol.

They lost by 12 in a game where grossman threw a pick 6 and fumbled a ball away. And another interception.

So don’t turn the ball over and you’re down 5 with jones rushing for 112 yards on 7.5 YPC.

One interception was at the bears 39. The fumble was at the 48. So you’re asking a guy not to turn the ball over and to get 31 and 22 more yards to get field goals.

Bears 23 colts 22

IIRC, the old CBMB had to ban new Grossman threads because there were so many people creating threads shitting on him. So they consolidated all Grossman threads into one big one. Even after his Bear career was done, there were tons of people still shitting on him. So that 80% poll you're referring to certainly didn't apply there.

Yeah. Which is what everyone was afraid would happen. Unlike this false narrative you’re trying to push that a majority of the fan base was behind and believed in him while you were some Nostradamus zagging in your non belief.

I also don’t think just casually saying the guys you listed would have won is rooted in reality. The Bears were good but so was Indy. They had Manning and other than the Pats were the most consistent team in the league for a decade. To just be like “yeah, Orton woulda beat em” is laughable. Like we’re just supposed to accept that as fact. Oh yeah, Trent Dilfer, he obviously beats Manning. That’s just fact and I can use it during on an argument on the internet and people should just accept it and not laugh at me.

This doesn’t clear you of creating some strawman argument. What proof do you have that the poster you are debating with wanted that? Do you know what “a strawman argument is?” Serious question.

Maybe by then. I’m talking about early in 2006. When they made the change. Halfway through the year he was the answer.

Uh, everyone loved and overvalued Grossman. They doubled and tripled down and when he ended up on the bench in Washington I’ve been listening to 15+ years of “Rex who? I don’t even know who that guy was.” I bet you had a Rex grossman jersey and that when Williams flames out here you won’t own it
Sorry, you could not be more wrong about me and Grossman but your belief in your omniscience is kind of entertaining.

I’m definitely on Williams and he’s the reason I have hope a real coach can turn this around.

And at no point did I make a statement that Brown is responsible for the lack of Ints because it would be a stupid assertion. Caleb is responsible for the accuracy of his passes.

Caleb has 7 TDs and 0 Ints under Brown. That is a factual statement. No idea why that drove you to lie about what PFF said about TWPs.
So when you said that Brown was responsible for the improvement in CW. That was just a lie?

Man do you get confused by your own vortex.
Lol this version is about the dumbest one yet.

Imagine being upset that Thomas Brown has Caleb playing well.

Do you mean Caleb now has 7 TDs and 0 ints under Brown in 4 games is an example of Brown has CW "playing well"?

What the actual ****? I can't tell if this thread is cursed or amazing that suddenly Rex Grossman is being talked about again.

Are there prop bets or something on how many vortexes can occur in a single thread?

Thomas Brown having Caleb playing well doesnt mean he controls whether Caleb throws bad passes or not. It means he has put him in positions to succeed but Caleb still has to go out there and execute.

Do you mean Caleb now has 7 TDs and 0 ints under Brown in 4 games is an example of Brown has CW "playing well"?
Again having someone playing well doesnt mean you are responsible for the accuracy of their passes. Players are still responsible for their own execution dumbass.

Brown has provided Caleb with opportunities to succeed. Caleb has taken advantage of them and executed. That execution is on Caleb not Brown. I cant believe this has to be explained to you.

So once again at no point have I ever claimed Brown is responsible foe rhe lack of Ints. Your misinterpreted what I said same way your dumbass misinterpreted what PFF meant by TWP. You should stop trying to tell others what they mean as you are really bad at it.

Got it, so pure dumb luck that the DB can't catch are what's responsible for the 0 INT.. you could of just saved yourself 15+pages of embarrassing vortex if you just said, yes when you replied to me when I said that originally. But you do you

On the bright side you have shown the world how insane you are so well done.

Nope. Once again his TWPs per multiple independent sources are not a huge issue relative to other QBs in the NFL.

You wasted 15 pages rambling on because your dumbass didnt bother to read fully the sources you cited. You ignorantly and incorrectly claimed all fumbles are TWPs and that a pass tipped in the air by a WR is a TWPs play by a QB despite your source clearly saying the opposite.

Next time read what you post more carefully and you can avoid embarrassing yourself and showing everyone your gross ignorance. I mean you literally posted the evidence for me that proved how stupid your argument was. SMH!

Cool cool cool. If only my argument had anything to do with fumbles this might actually be a sold argument from you. But unfortunately for you your counter argument about fumbles is pretty stupid.

And pretty untrustworthy anyway.

Besides I never said the Moore tipped pass was a TWP. That's just you lying. I said it was not "knocked away" something you lied about when saying contested balls that are "knocked away" are not a TWP. Complete lie from you.

Now is the Moore tipped ball a TWP? Maybe, the ball was thrown behind Moore so it's certainly possible. But there is at least 4 other plays that fit the TWP perfectly according to the video. So that's grounds for ignoring the whole PFF as well anyway.

Bottom line you using a stat that has fumbles in it to argue against just passing is just as dumb as you can get regardless of the questionable methodology of what a TWP is.

Now are you going to switch back to the "never said Brown was responsible for improving CW 0 INT" vortex? Or are you sticking with this loser one for a while before jumping back?
