I like him but have no faith Matt Nagy can help him reach his potential and get over mental hurdles.

Saints, Patriots, Chiefs, Rams, Seahawks, 49ers are the best teams for him.

To each his own.

Yeah I saw it, and yeah Darnold's still garbage. About the only thing he can do okay is go off-script, sometimes to the detriment of running out of a clean pocket and forcing pressure on himself.

How do you know he’s garbage though? He’s online , coaching and receivers are some of the worst in the league.

Is it all his fault that he sucks, no. Does he still observably suck, yes. If you can get him for some throw-in level day 3 draft picks why not I guess.

Their Oline played better and got guys back about halfway through the season in. He's still the 30th ranked passer with a clean pocket. He's always been very turnover prone and so far has accounted for the most redzone turnovers in the NFL during his tenure.

He's bad at reading the field, and his accuracy isn't good. This is not the type of project the Bears should take on if you don't believe in Nagy. Conversely if you want Nagy gone this is exactly the type of guy to take on.

I wouldn't mind if the price were right. He's young and will have the post-Gase effect operating in his favor. I wouldn't give much for him though.

lets trade for a QB with worse stats and advanced stats than Trubisky...because hope, just maybe defying all the odds

why do you people do this to yourself?

If you really want to see if you can reclaim Darnold, he can probably be signed next offseason for a 1 year $5-6M contract. If you really want to have him this year I would wait until training camp to make the move so he only costs 920k on cap. If any team is taking him on before the roster bonus gets paid and his cap hit is almost $5M... i mean the $5M of cap space to NYJ is probably worth more than the player at that point and I would want a late pick along with Darnold. This assumes NYJ drafts a QB, there is still time for them to Jets this up and get a DE or something with their pick.

Stats aren't everything though. Darnold has quite a few better passing attributes than Mitch. Mitch can scramble better but Mitch's stats are padded by big games against weak defenses. But that isn't really the point.

The point would be a belief that Darnold has a Tannehill-like future and would reserve resources to help build around him in a way that could not happen with the bigger names.

Just what do you imagine people that feel this way are "doing to themselves?"

He should replace Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay.

If he needs a great coach to 'fix' him, I can tell you right now Nagy is not that guy. Nagy wants HIS system, he has no interest in doing what's good for the QB he has.

Bears fans have got to STOP wanting them to buy someone else's trash. It's not the way. You have to draft one. Mitch didn't work, try again. If the next one doesn't work, then try again.

You are right about Nagy but it is also foolish to mortgage the future for a big talent QB in HOPES that he can outplay Nagy's deficiencies.

Keeping Pace and Nagy fucked us up no matter what imo

None of these throws are that impressive and all of them where from a clean pocket. Did you watch the video I posted?!! Mitch will never make that throw
So you want them to sign a bum cause of ONE fucking throw? Jesus.

Yeah, Nagy just isn't a good coach. He's a fantastic cheerleader, he can hype up the team, but his play calling is shit and his ego needs to be checked.

Darnold has shown little in the way of success and has backslid statistically in his career, so yes lets invest time and draft capital in him.....but hey one can always hope....

That's what I mean by why do Bears fans do this to themselves....

I'd rather just trade up and draft a QB this year, but only if you can't steal a proven starter from another team.

The time investment is worse if you trade for Darnold only because we've seen his limitations in the NFL.

Why are people assuming Nagy will be able to turn Darnold into a top half starter when his offense couldn't even get baseline levels out of Nick Foles?

Have there been any examples of QBs playing at the kind of level Darnold has in his early career then becoming really good at a different franchise? Genuinely asking. My feeling is usually they are what they are. Just draft someone if you can’t get Watson or Wilson, the rest are all just different shades of QBs whose ceiling is average and floor is terrible.

I have never seen Mitch make one wow throw. Please provide an example. Mitch is a below average arm talent that used to be able to scramble a little bit
Here you go.
