As others have written, I think 33 makes this list of favorite BEARS over the past 15 years (and/or the list of favorite BEARS in your lifetime). He sure sounds sour here ("Despite all that I’ve done for Chicago, none of that matters, that doesn’t mean a thing. I’m just a cap number."). I hope he stays the same type of guy & player he's always been.

Oh boo-hoo Tillman you only make $3.25M this season? Sounds to me like business is good.

Forte's contract was pretty reasonable in terms of the market at the time.
Kinda my point. RB value relative to other salaries has diminished since then. I certainly wanted him back. Gotta pay if you wanna play.

Well that is the problem, you're not comparing superstar salaries. You're just looking at the position instead relative the rest. Forte was paid superstar back money, which he earned.

Tillman has been getting just a little bit slower each of the past several years. He gets beat a lot more than he used to. Sucks to hear, but it's true. It's smart not to devote multiple years to him, especially with a high draft pick now waiting in the wings.

Just uncheck the box at the bottom of your editor that says...."Automatically convert links into videos". :dunno:
Thanks! I feel silly now :). I will say that I was using the "quick reply" as opposed to the "Go advanced."

Huh? He just had a career year 2 seasons ago.

And for a cornerback that never relied on speed, your statement sounds over the top....the only concerns with Tillman right now are his durability not his speed.

This is correct, and as much as I and everybody else loves Peanut, his durability is a major question. Last year he missed half the season, and the year before is deceiving. He played in all 16 games, and his performance was extraordinary. But he did all that in Waddle type fashion. He had a variety of injuries two years ago, and had to leave the game quite often and in most games. Then he was back out there again, and back and forth.

I pray that he plays most of this season in my heart, but do understand that is very doubtful.

I'm worried that with Adrian Wilson, presumably to be starting, there will not be a safety over top of Tillman on early downs... this is bad. Tillman needs a Richard Sherman situation, who has two All Pro safeties back there that make him look alot better than he is.

Speaking of, since Earl and the Mouth got paid, GOD PLEASE let us sign Kam Chancelor next year!!!!
Kam owned the playoffs last season.

Don't really understand why it's so controversial to say you shouldn't shell out multi-year money to an aging, slowing cornerback, but OK.

I don't care if he's the smartest cornerback in the world---if he keeps slowing down, it's going to catch up with him and whatever team he's on. I don't want the Bears to be that team in a few years. Maybe some of you do, but I know when to let a legend go because his time is running out.

Why do you think he couldn't get a multi-year deal from ANY TEAM IN THE NFL? What do you guys know that those GMs don't?

Seriously? Your original post put an emphasis on speed and....oh **** it. You will fit in just fine with the rest of the backpedaling argument changers. Carry on.
